Slipstream

Slipstream is a quick-serve concept that combines coffee, cocktails and simple but freshly delicious provisions. For its latest location, in Arlington, Va., the company partnered with design firm Cooper Carry to create a space that is equal parts visually pleasing and functional.

The new location is on the ground-floor retail space at the Ballston Point office building on Wilson Blvd., which means it is accessible from the lobby of the office as well as the street. Cooper Carry designed the space to activate both areas and drive traffic to the center of the location, undoubtedly the hub of the experience.

An expansive open-concept countertop rests at the center of the space, featuring four ordering stations where customers can select and customize their drink and food orders. Customers will organically trickle into this area, so they also will be able to see Slipstream employees make and serve its assortment of craft coffee drinks and cocktails.

Cooper Carry used Slipstream’s vibrant color palette to add more life to the location. Although natural wood and neutral furnishings blend seamlessly into the space, a mix of bright blue tiles are equally eye-catching and inviting.
