Urwerk was founded by Felix Baumgartner and Martin Frei in 1997 and has, since its inception, focused on the wandering hours complication as the core mechanical and design feature of its watches. In addition to its instantly recognizable basic collections, Urwerk has in recent years created several unique horological experiments that focus on chronometry, including, most recently, a master-slave system in which a watch is regulated by an atomic clock.
