To maintain Swiss Army Knives, use a 15°–20° angle whetstone for sharpening, or a cooling grinding wheel. Clean by opening and closing in warm water, then apply oil. This is a nice little knife/multi tool. Perfect size to carry on keychain. Nice design and well built. Easy to deploy each tool. There are things that I have no idea what I would use for (cuticle pusher??). I carried the little SD for years and it got a little worn from use. This model doesn't have the tweezer. Carrying on keychain these items would be lost after a while anyway.

All I can say is that you really should buy this knife. It's one of the very smallest Swiss Army knives available, and it is an "Alox" model, meaning it has aluminum rather than plastic scales. It's got two knife blades, a fingernail file, scissors, an orange peeler, a cuticle pusher and screwdriver heads. You can't this kind of functionality in any other kind of small knife package. Truth be told, a knife like this will do around 90% of what you'd ever use a knife for, and it's small and light enough that you can always have it with you---except if you're flying. You don't want some TSA agent to confiscate this from your luggage--because you know it would go home with him!

I love this knife.

Is it small? Yes. Can it do everything a larger knife can do? No. But that isn't what it's for.

In its size and weight class it really has no equal in what it can do and it can do a surprising amount of work. I can EDC this everyday without much of a penalty in bulk or weight and that's a good thing. I feel all the tools are useful despite what some of the other reviewers have said or think.

I use the cuticle pusher as intended but it also works as a flat head screw driver for some of the wider notched screws and as a pharmaceutical/powder scoop. The orange peeler is also good for making very good draw cuts and opening the clam-shell packaging we so often see now a days. The ruler has a flat head driver on it but I use it to scrape and make indentations in things.

I got the alox version with the metal scales which cuts down on the width at the cost of the light and pen. It's thinner than my my car fob and in my opinion quite attractive and worth the trade off.

I've been carrying a Victorinox Swiss Army knife for 50 years. The last three were the mini champ with LED and pen. I decided to try this one when the last one got fairly worn because the LED and pen never ended up being useful for me. This one is thinner and sturdier with the aluminum scales. It's the best knife I've carried and will get another one if this one ever needs replacing. I've also given two of these as gifts.

This little knife is beautiful and useful. It's light enough to keep on your keyring, and even though it has a large toolset, the Alox scales make it nearly as thin as a Classic or Rambler SAK.
The tool I like most is the "orange peeler", but it should really be called the package opener. It's great for opening those nearly impenetrable blister packs.
I'd give it five stars except for one thing: there are too many tools. Hard to believe, I know. But one side has five blades, and given the knife's small size, some of those tools can be frustratingly difficult to open, especially for people like me with larger hands and failing eyesight. I guess it's not so much a failing of the product, but it needs to be married up with the right person. Something to keep in mind.

I've tried many different pocket tools and this is my favorite one.

Why?

It has a bunch of tools that you'll be glad to have with you.
- Scissors!!!! The scissor is small but you'll be using a lot. From just removing that hangnail, cutting off a hanging thread, snipping through clothing tags, opening some bags in the packaging. These are things I've used it for in the last few days.
- It's got a couple of little screwdrivers (flat/Philips). I'm always using these things to open battery compartments, adjust my glasses, and other small tasks like that. It's always with me and I never need to go to my main toolbox to get my small screwdrivers when it's already on my keychain.
- The orange slicer is kind of gimmicky but I've started to use it to open packages especially those blister packs.
- Bottle opener. Better than the normal brute force way of striking it on an edge of a table.

Unused tools:
The only thing I haven't used is the cuticle pusher and nail file. There are two similar sized knife blades which does seem kind of redundant too. I guess you have a backup if you dull one of them too fast. I'll usually use the wider blade as it's more of a normal blade, whereas the other one is slightly slimmer and flatter.

I bought the Alox version which is highly recommended if you can afford it. First, it looks great and wears well. So far, even with my keys jangling around in my pocket and already dropping it on the floor a few times, it doesn't get scratched up. And secondly, the whole knife is thinner because the aluminum sides adds no bulk. The red plastic bodied ones do have a pen and light or tweezers depending on which model you pick, but the shell adds a noticeable degree of thickness (I've attached a picture of the midnite minichamp). Take your pick, they are both great knives worthy of carrying, but I prefer a slimmer knife. This is my first Alox Victorinox but count me in as fan.
