Maggot Zombies are a Zombie variant that spawn in the Graveyard mini-Biome, created when six or more Tombstones are present. When Maggot Zombies are killed, they will spawn up to three Maggots. These zombies have a more dreadful and rotten appearance than other Zombies, and the sprite also shows that they may be missing an eye.
Notes[]
- Despite spawning Maggots on death and being relatively different from other Zombies, there is no Maggot Zombie Banner; instead, the ordinary Zombie Banner offers a buff against the Maggot Zombie.
Trivia[]
- The Maggots spawned upon death and the name in general could be a reference on how flies and maggots feast on rotten objects.
- Its face and head somewhat resembles an insect’s head.
The Bestiary entry for the Maggot Zombie: "Wanders aimlessly to infest the living with undeath, unaware of its own maggoty infestation."
