🌱 The ecological transition, one of the main challenges for AI! Artificial intelligence stimulates and multiplies creative energies, but it also consumes a lot of power. Its environmental impact must be kept under control and, above all, new solutions must be found that are more respectful of the planet and its resources. The 10th edition of our #AccuracyTalksStraight devoted to generative AI looks at this crucial issue. In her article, our Senior VP of Sustainability Sophie Chassat points out that the most prominent players in the field of AI, such as OpenAI founder Sam Altman, are taking the subject very seriously. She also stressed that the AI report published last spring by the commission chaired by Anne Bouverot and Philippe Aghion recommends a promising path for France in this area. 🤖 Artificial intelligence is changing our relationship with the truth in many ways. But what does it know about itself, and what does it really teach us, apart from reproducing and arranging pre-existing knowledge content? Lacking any creativity of its own, incapable of 'knowing itself' and therefore unable to respond to Socrate's philosophical injunction, generative #AI, based on probabilistic models, seems at first sight to be alien to 'true' knowledge. Inaccurate facts, approximations, hallucinations, conventional ideas... these are all pitfalls that those who use it must watch out for to avoid making mistakes. However, if properly used and understood as a thought stimulant, #GAI can help us make decisive progress in the world of knowledge. And perhaps even regenerate certain fields of knowledge. This is the fascinating point of view developed in the 10th edition of our #AccuracyTalksStraight by Raphaël Doan, historian and senior civil servant with expertise in AI, who is both a specialist in Roman history and a knowledgeable user of LLMs! 🔎 The last edition of our #EconomicBrief before the summer break looks at three topics: interest rates, the valuation of US listed companies and the relationship between corporate profits and inflation. Our senior economic adviser, Hervé Goulletquer, points out that interest rate cuts are finally getting started, particularly in Europe, albeit later and slower than expected. And for the first time in its history, the ECB has cut interest rates before the Fed. What consequences will this have? Hervé also notes that company valuations have grown significantly in the US, driven in part by the surge in the stock market value of technology companies since the 1990s, among many other reasons. But over the same period, the rate of return on equities relative to that on US Treasury bonds has fallen. Is this a new status quo? Finally, Hervé touches on the role of corporate profits in the latest bout of inflation. Do they have a share of the blame? Read the full edition here 👉 https://lnkd.in/eyUHFWMz

What are the new Dutch government's priorities for energy and the fight against climate change? Bianca van Zijderveld, Senior Manager at Accuracy, examines the new program as the cabinet led by Prime Minister Dick Schoof takes office. In terms of energy, the new administration has announced several changes in direction, notably reducing the emphasis on renewable energies compared to the ambitions of the previous government. Instead, they are placing significant emphasis on nuclear power to achieve goals of decarbonisation and energy independence. This approach could involve the construction of up to four new nuclear power plants and substantial investment in small modular reactors (SMRs). Is this a direction that will pay off? Time will tell.
