Izuku Midoriya vs. Otheon Police & Beros is a chase where Deku and Rody Soul try to escape from Beros and the Otheon police force that Humarise sends against them.

Prologue[]

Beros pleads her loyalty to Humarise

Beros swears to fulfill Flect Turn's orders.

While being chased by Deku, Rody Soul inadvertently ends up in the middle of a car crash, dropping the briefcase with the stolen jewels. The accident had been caused by the Humarise agent, Beros, who was trying to retrieve a briefcase containing essential information about the organization. In the confusion, they both pick up the wrong briefcases before continuing on with their respective assignments.

Rody tries to escape through the subway, but is caught by Deku, who demands him to open the briefcase. This sparks a small struffle over the case until it accidentally opens, leaving both Deku and Rody confused to see that there are only papers inside. Elsewhere, Beros opens Rody's briefcase thinking it was the one she was chasing for, only to realize she retrieved the wrong one. She informs Flect Turn of her mistake, and he orders her to continue tracking while he takes the appropriate measures to recover the information that was stolen from them.

Izuku apologizes to Rody

Deku apologizes to Rody for thinking he's a "thief".

Back to Deku, he greatly apologizes to Rody for taking him to be one of the jewel thieves (which he was). Rody tries to appear nonchalant and accepts his apology, but deep inside he is completely freaked out that he doesn't have the jewelry he was supposed to deliver, until he realizes that in the previous accident it must have been mixed-up with another briefcase similar to his. Hardly able to contain his jitteriness and concerned about his screw-up, Rody says goodbye to Deku and leaves the subway, but Deku follows him to check if everything is alright.[1]

Battle[]

Beros shoots Deku and Rody

Beros attacks her targets from a long distance.

Shortly after they leave the subway, a large number of police vehicles arrive and stop in front of them. Numerous police officers get out and quickly point their guns at Rody, ordering him to surrender. Rody is both confused and scared to see so many police officers after him, even with some of them wearing SWAT gear. Deku tries to defuse the situation, but Rody runs away clutching the briefcase strongly in his arms. One of the policemen yells that they have permission to shoot and immediately everyone opens fire on them.

Deku activates One For All and grabs Rody, using Blackwhip to quickly get away by swinging throughout the city. The policemen immediately get into their vehicles and chase them incessantly through the streets. To get rid of their pursuers, Deku takes a route that leads to a cliff, forcing the police to stop so as not to fall, while he takes a leap of faith, still grabbing a scared Rody. Using Blackwhip again, Deku manages to land on the roof of a passing train. Both are without a scratch, although Deku is concerned that the police have shot them, while Rody is still affected by the frightful experience.

Izuku dodges Beros' arrows

Deku swings around the bridge to dodge Beros' arrows.

When the train goes through the Otheon suspension bridge, Deku sees an arrow speeding towards them and fires a Delaware Smash, managing to hit it, but the arrow stabilizes and continues its trajectory. Deku immediately pushes Rody away before the arrow sticks to the rooftop of the train. Deku immediately realizes that the archer is on the other side of the river.

From here, Beros uses her Longbow Quirk to fire another arrow, forcing Deku to swing across the rails under the bridge as he dodges the projectile, with Rody once again grabbing onto him. To complicate things even more, Beros shoots three more arrows at them. Deku manages to dodge them, but several arrows hit the train, putting the passengers in danger. To avoid civilians getting hit in the crossfire, he propels himself to the top of the suspension bridge, swinging across the structure as he dodges the remaining arrows.

Izuku manages to escape from the police

Deku jumps off the bridge to escape the police.

Unfortunately, this entire terrifying experience is too much for Rody, who passes out from the shock and falls onto the highway along with the briefcase. After dodging the last arrows, Deku jumps towards Rody, and manages to grab him and the case before they crash to the ground and are run over. Several police cars appear to chase them, so in order to escape, Deku makes the decision to jump off the bridge and flee by diving into the water. Unable to shoot any more arrows at them, Beros opts to leave.[1]

Aftermath[]

Izuku tells his team what happened

Deku phones Shoto to tell him what happened.

After Deku manages to flee with Rody and the briefcase, Flect Turn uses Humarise's influence in the police to accuse him of having committed a horrible crime. Meanwhile, at the Otheon team's standby hotel, Endeavor is berating Shoto and Katsuki for acting on their own to stop a petty heist, reminding them that they are on a mission. When he asks about Deku, Shoto tells him that he was chasing another person suspected of participating in the jewel theft, but they haven't been able to contact him, further enraging Endeavor.

Just then, Deku gets in contact with Shoto and explains everything that has happened to him since they parted ways. As Shoto, Katsuki, and Endeavor listen to Deku's story, an agitated Clair Voyance appears and asks them to immediately watch the television. The three of them are shocked when they see on the news that Deku is suspect of the murdering of twelve people, resulting in putting him on the Otheon most wanted list, and that he has an accomplice.

Endeavor's team watches the news

Deku is declared a criminal by the authorities.

Disturbed, Shoto tells Deku what he just saw on the television, leaving him also shocked. Shoto replies that they will try to solve the fake accusation, and recommends him to remain hidden until then, disconnecting his cell phone and removing the battery so the police cannot track him with the GPS. After doing all that, Deku explains the situation to a now conscious Rody as they prepare for their next move.[1]
