Knowledge as a service, or KaaS, a HP Smart content program provides a number of capabilities to customers, partners, service providers and agents. Some of these capabilities include:

  • Allow users to access a large collection of information and data related to troubleshooting information,  product information, service advisories, manuals and diagnostic information etc., organized in a way that makes it easy for end users to search and retrieve content which can help them make more informed decisions and improve their workflows.

  • The ability to customize and retrieve the content that fit the specific needs of individual users or user groups.

  • Security and privacy controls to protect sensitive information and ensure that only authorized users have access to it.

  • A single source of truth used to aggregate content from multiple sources and make it available to users through a single, centralized platform. This can help ensure that users have access to the most accurate and up-to-date information, and can prevent the problems that can arise when different users have access to different versions of the same information

  • Improved customer satisfactionOverall, the goal of KaaS is to provide users with quick and easy access to the information and data they need, in a way that is tailored to their specific needs and requirements.

 

Who can access and use the HP KaaS API?

The KaaS API is intended for use by businesses to retrieve unified content based on user inputs.  HP’s customer advocacy group, along with your business' HP Account Manager, will review all requests to access the HP KaaS  API and approve access for all validated HP customers. 

At present, the KaaS API is NOT available for external customers. It is also NOT available for use by individuals and companies that do not have an HP Account Manager.  If either of these situations is your case and you still want to request access, then please contact the HP KaaS API customer advocacy group with specifics of your situation.

Request access to the HP KaaS API ... the Enrollment process

Already enrolled?

If you have already enrolled and been granted access to the KaaS API, but you are back at this page again, then you likely forgot to login to the HP Developers Portal. If you are enrolled and when you are logged in, you will be able to access the KaaS API site and your "My Apps" page where you can access API credentials that have been provisioned to you.

 

Step 0:  Register on the HP Developers Portal (if you are not already registered) with your company/business email address (NOT your personal email address).

Step 1:  Complete and submit the short Enrollment Form.

Information required on the Enrollment Form:

  • Your name and company email
  • Your company information:  name, website, location
  • The email of your HP Account Manager
  • Information about your intended usage of the HP KaaS API including your business / use case

Step 2:  HP’s customer advocacy group, along with your HP Account Manager, will review your request and approve access for all validated HP customers.

Step 3:  If approved, you will be sent an email that welcomes you to the HP KaaS API and contains a link to access the HP KaaS API site on the HP Developers Portal.

The HP KaaS API site includes access to the KaaS API documentation, KaaS API specification, some helpful script templates (e.g., Python and Powershell), and documentation. In addition, you will be able to request credentials (client ID and secret) to access the KaaS API.
