Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the difference between clean hand and foot care and natural/organic products?
Organic hand and foot care products adhere to the rigorous criteria set by the U.S. Department of Agriculture through the USDA Organic program. On the other hand, natural hand cream and foot care products do not have a regulated definition and may contain natural or naturally-derived components. Clean hand and foot care products also do not carry a specific legal definition, which led us to establish The Credo Clean Standard™. This industry-leading standard eliminates over 2700 ingredients that are potentially detrimental to the environment or human health.
  • Are there specific ingredients I should avoid in hand and foot care products for a clean routine?
Yes - these include commonly used chemicals like parabens, sulfates, and phthalates. These ingredients have been linked to various health concerns such as hormone disruption and skin irritation. Choosing hands and feet care products from us means you are avoiding such ingredients - as well as all the other ingredients on our Dirty List. This means you can truly feel good about what you're putting on your skin.
  • What should I look for in an effective clean hand sanitizer?
An effective clean hand sanitizer should contain at least 60% alcohol, as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). It should also be free from harmful ingredients such as fragrances, parabens, and phthalates. Look for natural alternatives like essential oils or plant-based ingredients to provide added benefits without compromising on safety.
  • What role does moisturizing play in maintaining healthy hands and feet?
Our hands and feet are constantly exposed to environmental factors such as harsh weather, frequent hand washing, and wearing tight shoes for long periods, which can all lead to dryness and discomfort. Moisturizing helps to replenish the natural oils in our skin, keeping it hydrated and preventing it from becoming dry, cracked, or irritated. It also helps to improve the overall appearance of our hands and feet by promoting softness and smoothness.
  • How does clean hand and foot care extend to environmental sustainability?
At Credo Beauty, our selection of clean hand and foot care products aligns with our commitment to sustainability. These hands and feet care products often come in packaging that is either recycled, recyclable, or biodegradable, helping to reduce the environmental footprint. Some brands also offer refill options to further decrease packaging waste. Plus, clean hand and foot care items are meticulously formulated to exclude chemicals that could harm the environment during production and disposal.
  • Is it necessary to use separate products for hands and feet, or can I use the same ones for both?
While there may be some overlap in the ingredients used for hand and foot care products, it's generally recommended to use separate products for each area. This is because our hands and feet have different skin thickness, texture, and needs. For example, our feet are often exposed to more friction and pressure, leading to thicker, more calloused foot skin - as well as issues such as cracked heels. Therefore, a specialized foot cream or scrub would be more effective at addressing these concerns compared to a general hand lotion.
