"Chapter 19: The Convert" is the nineteenth episode of the third season of the Star Wars live action series The Mandalorian. It aired on March 15, 2023.

Use of Aurebesh

Starfighter monitor

Two of the monitors on the console of Din Djarin's N-1 starfighter contain Aurebesh text. The red monitor at the top, above the three blue ones, says "ALT 51" and "PSI 11"; note that the numbers are written in an alternative numeral system, consisting of dots and lines. A small blue monitor below the other three blue screens says "TB", with every alternative numeral from 1 to 9 going around the letters. Note that the characters are upside-down. Note: The text on the other three monitors are not Aurebesh, but Naboo Futhork.

Amnesty Program uniforms

The Amnesty uniforms are emblazoned with the Aurebesh letter "A", for "amnesty".

Amnesty Housing signage

A sign outside the Amnesty Housing complex is written in translates as:

WELCOME TO THE
AMNESTY
AFFAIRS HOUSING

ALL NEW ARRIVALS MUST
CHECK IN WITH THE
[three illegible words]

The other sign, which is not mirror-inverted, says "A" for "amnesty".

Travel biscuit wrapping

The wrapper on the travel biscuits that Penn Pershing receive, says "HEB".

Monument Plaza signage

Monument Plaza, where Pershing goes sightseeing with Elia Kan, is filled with holographic street signs:

  • In the establishing shot, there is a pink vertical street sign in the lower left hand corner, which is seen from behind; therefore the characters are mirror-inverted. It says "SANTHOSHI BALA O". Note that some lights keep running down the sign, sometimes obscuring some of the characters. (Interestingly, Santhoshi is the name of a female actor known for appearing in the 2002 Indian action film Bala.)
    • Behind that, there is a round pink holographic sign that says "SQU[obscured] IS HO[obscured]" (note that the first word is seen from behind and is therefore mirror-inverted).
  • In the shot of the street magician conjuring a reptile, a circular green sign says "GRE[obscured character]N HAT [obscured]DESH". Note that parts of the sign is seen from behind and is therefore mirror-inverted.
    • A round mirror-inverted yellow sign is seen from behind in the background, it says "RANDOM TEXT HERE". (A green version of the sign, also mirror-inverted, can be seen in the background two shots later.)
    • Finally, a yellow sign in the background says "CITY WORLD DT".
  • In the shot where Kan says, "A trillion permanent residents", a circular multicolored sign (mostly seen from behind) on the right side of the screen says "[image begins]CIV [obscured]" at the top, "KEEP [obscured symbol]OUR D[obscured]" in the middle, and "[image begins]OM[obscured character]N" at the bottom.
  • A sign with a globe with pink text spinning around it, some of which is seen from behind and mirror-inverted, is seen in a few shots, including the aforementioned shot where Kan speaks, and the last shot of the scene, where the camera pans upward. It says "WELCOME TO THE CITY" on both sides, one of which is mirror-inverted, while the other contains regular characters.
    • In the shot where Kan speaks, light blue letters above the globe (also mirror-inverted) say "WELCOME" and "RAMIN[image ends]", while the third word is unreadable due to the angle. A white sign at the bottom of the screen includes the word "IS"; the rest is too obscured to decipher.
  • In the first close-up of the peak of Umate, a round purple sign to the left of the mountain top says "SAMUEL CROWE". A vertical yellow sign to the right of the peak merely produces gibberish (it only consists of consonants).
  • In the second shot of the mountain peak, a round sign is seen on the right side of the screen, which includes the words "WELCOME TO" (mirror-inverted); the rest is too blurred to decipher properly. A green sign over the mountain says "AB".
  • Red text going around a black building can be seen in several shots. It says "ADDING A LOT OF RANDOM TEXT HERE TO SEE WHY [illegible]". This is best seen as the camera pans upward in the final shot of the episode.
  • In the shot where the camera pans upward while Pershing and Kan leave, a mirror-inverted green sign says "WELCO[image ends]" TO THE PLAZA". The green vertical sign on a brown building in the middle of the screen says "JCLD GALACTIC SHIPPING".
  • The rest of the signs in the scene (mostly mirror-inverted) merely consist of gibberish, are too far away, or too obscure to decipher (for example, a pink sign seen in the background of a few shots, such as when Pershing approaches the mountain, merely consists of consonants).

Station signage

As Pershing and Kan are walking toward the hovertrain station , a large monitor seems to contain Aurebesh text, but it is too far away to read. The same thing goes for the monitors inside the station. However, the top of a monitor that is mirrored in the train window when Pershing and Kan are seated says "RING TWO".

Inside the station, a large mirror-inverted sign (it is seen from behind) says:

FEDERAL
STATION

EXECUTIVE BUILDING
MONUMENT PLAZA

THE PUBLIC TRANSIT SYSTEM OF CORUSCANT
HAS A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY ON ITS
RULES AND RESTRICTIONS.

REPORT ALL VIOLATIONS IMMEDIATELY.

Note: The text around the sign is too blurred to decipher.

The gates seen are "GATE B", "GATE C" and "GATE F".

Train ads

There are several Aurebesh ads in the hovertrain that Pershing and Kan take. One of them says "DROID REPOT" [sic]. This is best seen on the mirror-inverted reflection on the other window. The rest are too blurred to decipher properly.

Patrol gunship

The patrol gunship that surprises Pershing says "POLICE".

Mitigator settings

The monitor on the control panel of the Six-O-Two Mitigator says "LVL" (short for "level") and lists every alternative numeral from 1 to 9, representing different voltage levels. Another part of the control panel carries the letter S.

Concept art

A piece of concept art in the end credits shows Pershing working on Coruscant, with four cubicles carrying the text "DR PERSH". The letters are written in an alternative font used in the comic War of the Bounty Hunters – Jabba the Hutt 1.
