True Ending Guide
Welcome to IGN's guide to the True Ending in Dragon's Dogma 2. Much like its predecessor, Dragon's Dogma 2 features multiple Endings. The True Ending refers to the final cutscene that is unlocked by completing the world unchosen and setting the world back on its intended path.

True Ending Guide
The key moment to reaching Dragon's Dogma 2's True Ending is the final Main Quest, Legacy. if you choose to battle The Dragon you will undoubtedly notice the strange, long flight sequence before the battle during which you have control of your character. Keep this mind as you go forward.
Defeat The Dragon and attend the coronation ceremony. Approach the throne, but do not sit down. Instead, go speak to The Pathfinder who is sitting silently at a table to the left of the throne. After a short conversation he will go into the crowd. Go speak to him again and he will give you a second chance, sending you back to the dragon flight cutscene.
Here you need to open your item menu, select the Empowered Godsbane Blade, and use it on yourself. This will kill both you and The Dragon, putting an end to the watching one's cycle.
After a long cutscene you will wake up in the world unchosen, a Postgame section the game cheekily refers to as Dragon's Dogma 2 (notice the change on the title screen).
Once you gain control you are free to explore the doomed world, which has new areas to see and new optional bosses to take on.
However, your time is limited. A red fog is slowly overtaking the map, and if you wait to long certain areas will become inaccessible. Start with the outermost cities, use Ferrystones when traveling, and only sleep when absolutely necessary.
Some things to do include:
- Three Main Quests: Dreams Apart, A Scholarly Pursuit, Halls of the First Dawn
- Evacuate the Cities: Return to all the game's major cities (which all have new Portcrystals) and convince the citizens to relocate to the Seafloor Shrine.
- Investigate the Red Beams: You will notice five red beams coming down from the skies above. Make your way to the base of the beams and activate them to summon special bosses and earn Wyrmslife Crystals.
Once you run out of things to do, a final Red Beam will appear in the Seafloor Shrine and The Pathfinder will encourage you to put an end to the story. Investigate this beam to trigger the True Ending and view the final cutscene. Doing this forces you to enter New Game+.
