Hedy Lamarr, Golden Age Hollywood star, inventor, and polymath, packed several lifetimes into her eventful life. Forced to comply with the rigid strictures afforded women in public life, Lamarr was, behind the scenes, more brilliant an inventor and thinker than she was an actress. Among her notable achievements was co-inventing a guidance system for Allied torpedoes that used frequency-hopping technology to defeat Axis defense systems during WWII. One of the (many) things I love about Auror is that we have a shared understanding of the importance of having a diverse, equitable, and inclusive company, and the impact this has on our ability to build software that positively impacts our communities. We want to make sure our team is representative of the communities, customers, and partners that we support. Looking at the data we have a great gender diversity mix both across Auror, and in leadership. Our overall team is 54% women, 44% men, and 2% gender diverse (and leadership is 52% women and 48% men). I'm looking forward to gathering and sharing data around LGBTQIA+ 🏳️🌈 representation as it's something close to my heart (and an area I suspect we already have significant representation in), and we have clear areas of improvement when it comes to ethnic diversity. We have way more work to do here but I can't think of anywhere else I'd rather be doing this work, or anyone else I'd rather do it with 💖 #diversityandinclusion #womenintechnology
