Choice & Change: Thankful for life’s paths

Choice & Change: Thankful for life’s paths

“The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.” ― Carl Gustav Jung

When we go through our day-to-day schedules, it can be easy to feel a little stuck sometimes. Stuck in routines. In to-dos. In conversations. In actions or inactions.

But there is something incredibly special about our days that we often don’t notice and that is choice.

Whether large choices (like where to move or work), or small choices (like whether to have hot or iced coffee), having these options at all has a huge impact on our lives. We live in a time—and I personally live in a place—that allows for multiple paths to unfold at any given moment. And there is a very comforting freedom that comes with that opportunity.

Along with that is the privilege of respecting others in their personal choices and the paths they take. No matter how different they are from your own. I had the honor of attending one of my friend’s and team member’s wedding in Tel Aviv this summer.  It was a day filled with so much love and joy, in some ways unlike anything I had experienced before. It happened to be the union of two men, and when I shared my experience with our Pride team at Quantum, they helped me to identify just what that joy was.  It was the choice to be and live as your truly authentic self, regardless of what others may think. Within that, life has much more meaning.

The power of choice and change—I am grateful for that.

So as you spend time this week with friends or family, think about the choices that you have made that you are thankful for, and the choices that make you and represent your authentic self.
