First, recategorize the unsuccessful attempt in your mind. Failure is a dead-end word that implies no progress is possible. In the contrary, you have now eliminated a path that doesn’t work. Think about what the roadblocks were. Was there a miscommunication between you and your client or manager about the outcome required? Is there a way to streamline or expand the process to reach your goals? Now you are ready to explore a different path with new and valuable information.

I am at a loss when it comes to telecommunication services. I often make mistakes and feel like a failure when I do. I then ask for help from co-workers and/or supervisors to help me over the rough spots.

We once launched a VOIP offering with 5 different versions, it had too many variants and we didn't understand it internally, so neither did our customers. We could've quite easily said it was a bad solution and started again. Instead we stripped it back from 5 offerings to 2. The first offering was entry level, cheap and basic functionality The second was quality, feature rich but came with a higher price tag. It took months for the affects of this to be seen but it's now our best selling product. So my advice is 1) Take a step back and don't knee jerk 2) Look at things through a different lens 3) Be patient, innovation takes time
