How to Build an Obliterator
Gone are the days of inventory management issues, as there's no longer a need to travel long and far just to discard several items that you don't want hanging around your base. So instead of littering the forests and oceans with your unwanted items, Valheim has a solution in the form of an all-new item: the Obliterator!
As the name suggests, the Obliterator will literally obliterate any items you no longer want and thankfully, the machine can be forged with relatively common items. So for a complete step-by-step process for crafting your own Obliterator, see our handy guide below for more details.
How to Craft an Obliterator
In order to build an obliterator, you will need the following materials:
- 8x Iron
- 4x Copper
- 1x Thunder Stone
In addition to these requirements, you will also need a Forge.
Iron and Copper can be mined through their deposits. Iron deposits can be found in the Swamp Biome inside Sunken Crypts, while copper can be found in deposits in the Black Forest biome. The tricky part here is getting Thunder Stone.
The only way to get Thunder Stone is to either use cheats to spawn them or look for Haldor in the Black Forest Biome. Haldor is a dwarven merchant that sells things in exchange for coins. If you find him, there will be a bag icon that will appear which means that he should be nearby. Simply approach him and buy the Thunder Stone he sells for 50 coins.
Coins are found in Burial Grounds in the Black Forest as well as dropped by a number of monsters such as Trolls and Fuling.
How to Use the Obliterator
The Obliterator is the answer to the prayers of the players who wish to immediately get rid of the items they don't need in their bags or chests. Simply approach the obliterator and put the items you want gone. Then go to the side of the Obliterator and pull down the lever. There should be a lightning strike that will happen, make sure not to be anywhere near the Obliterator!
There are prerequisites for the Obliterator if you want it to produce coal. The Obliterator will produce 1 coal per:
- 1 Trophy
- 20 Arrows
- 10 Other Things (assorted or not)
- 5 Wood (Ancient, Core, Fine, or just Wood)
