IEEE Fellow is a distinction reserved for select IEEE members whose extraordinary accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest are deemed fitting of this prestigious grade elevation. Review the sections on this page to learn about the history of the IEEE Fellow grade, the elevation process, and how the program evolved through the years to become the program it is today.

  • The Fellow Portal - Electronic Fellow Nomination System is now closed for the IEEE Fellow Class of 2025.
  • Nominations for the IEEE Fellow Class of 2025 are currently under review by the Fellow Committee Judges. 
  • The Fellow Portal will reopen in November 2024 for nominations for the IEEE Fellow Class of 2026. The deadline for nominations for the IEEE Fellow Class of 2026 will be February 7, 2025.

If there is a discrepancy about the Fellow nomination deadline found through an online search, or on a Society or Council website, the most accurate deadline information is located on the Fellows website and in the Fellow Committee Operations Manual.
