This is a very smooth, sturdy, well-made clip. I also bought a set of less expensive metal clips and they are definitely less smooth and less solid, so for longer-term use I think these are worth the money. The only downside is they are on the small side. I have quite thick hair, and I can't get all of it into the clip. However, it holds firmly enough that I can twist it up and then grab the tail end in the clip and it is extremely solid.

I might add: Don't wear these in the car! If you got thrown back against the headrest this could do serious damage to your skull.

It is super durable and holds up well, but it is small. I have extremely fine hair, but a lot of it. It is down just past my shoulders and wavy. It took me a few tries to secure all of my hair into the clip and onto my head, but once I did it stayed all night (which is why I am rating it 4 stars).
It is also super heavy, so it weighed me down a bit, but it is a nice elegant touch for when you want to dress up your claw clip a little bit. I would purchase this item again if it was just a little bigger than it is and I did not have to take multiple tries to pull up all of my hair.
