- Gwent: The Witcher Card Game

Gabor Zigrin was a dwarf from Mahakam, a guide to all important guests and a usual participant of the Mahakam Ale Festival.[1]

Biography[]

Life in Mahakam and Beyond[]

Being from a well-to-do and also one of the richer clans, he had nothing to complain about growing up.

Gabor's cousin of a cousin Yarpen Zigrin left Mahakam when he was a young snot of a dwarf.

A true dwarf of Clan Zigrin he hates the neighboring Clan Fuchs.

Gabor was a frequent visitor to the Northern Kingdoms. Going on emissaries to royal courts, being a representative of trade guilds and even joining mummers' troupes. Witnessing the troubles between humans and nonhumans.[1]

Guide to Queen Meve[]

He encounters Queen Meve of Lyria and Rivia at Mahakam's boader and are introduced by Rayla, already being acquaintances. As the Elder-in-chief Brouver Hoog is a recluse Gabor suggests to Meve to write a letter that he could present to him but as she has the Leaden Ring, he instead agrees to take them to meet Hoog in the pass.

As he travels with the queen's party he makes a request to arrange a shipment of dwarven mead and lager, as what the quartermaster serves at the mess at the moment tastes of goat piss.

After the unsuccessful meeting with the elder-in-chief, Gabor has a private jabber with the queen about ways she could get all the clans on her side to force Hoog's hand. To destroy two sites infested by monsters, Davor's Abyss and Boro's Rump. Once they have been collapsed and destroyed and as the party nears Langbridge for Meve's second meeting with the elder, Gascon brings to Meve's attention something he noted. The bones at the sites didn't just have bite markings but ones made by axes and swords too. Gabor tried and failed to make some clumsy excuses but gives in to Meve's pointed questions. It was on Clan Zigrins' elder's orders that no evidence of the massacre of the Fuchses' by the Zigrins' was to be left and used the queen's needs to accomplish it. Gabor wished to stop the bloodshed at the time but was brushed aside and made to swear a vow of silence. He begs Meve not to tell Hoog as he'll punish the whole clan, women and children included, as Gabor doesn't what to see more innocents harmed.

Needing to make a decision Queen Meve orders him to be watched and to remain a guest for now.

If Meve turns in the Zigrins' to Brouver Hoog: Meve decided to reveal the Zigrins' crimes, telling Brouver Hoog about their misdeeds. Gabor is immediately placed in shackles by the elder's guards. During the feast at Mount Carbon to send the queen and her party off, all the clans are represented save one, the Zigrins'. The whole clan was banished from Mahakam. An exception was made for one among their number, for Gabor was to be beheaded before the day was out.

If Meve doesn't turn in the Zigrins' to Brouver Hoog: Despite Meve finding out about the Zigrins' crimes, she decided to not tell Hoog anything, thus saving the reputation of his clan and the life of Gabor himself, who decides to leave Mahakam and asks to join Queen Meve's army to repay his debt to her. Sealing the agreement with a bear hug.[1]

The Second Northern War and its Aftermath[]

Gabor followed and fought beside Meve throughout the muggy swamps of Angren, assisted in reclaiming the queen's kingdom of Rivia and helped liberate Aedirn from the Nilfgaardian army under the command of Duke Ardal aep Dahy.

At the end of the war, he is said to of had a heavy hand in their victory and that he had more than repaid his debt to Meve. Gabor accepts the queen's offer to join the Lyrian and Rivian court to help improve relations with her nonhuman subjects.[1]
