The Contribution[]

We've barely jumped into volume 33, and already I'm talking about how I received a piece of art from Akiyama Sensei, author of the Team-Up Missions spin-off series!

This has become a tradition whenever our respective books share a release date (in Japan).

On that note, TUM volume 3 also has some art by me in it!

The Bit About This Panel[]

Can you see the faint shadow of her visor up there?

No? You really don't see the layer of tone starting about halfway up her face?! You can't see it?! Oh, right. Because it's not visible. During the inking stage, I thought that area of the penciling was just kind of grubby. After all the erasing I did, it just looked kind of gray.

I always get excited about optical illusions that come about coincidentally, so that was the moment I resolved to become a master of drawing such illusions. But on second look, that shadow isn't even visible, so I guess I'll abandon that dream. The next time an optical illusion emerges in my work randomly, I'll be sure to tell you about it.

You're no doubt thinking, "What on earth did he just force me to read?" I'm wondering the same thing.

The Second Profile Page
Thirteen's first profile page was in volume 2, so this is officially the second.
In volume 2, I wrote, "If I get the chance to show her without the suit, I will. If not, I won't."
I could, so I did.
She was there when Shigaraki started decaying the hospital in Jaku. She used her black holes to suck up debris and help her colleagues escape.
In the process, she came into contact with some of the decaying rubble and injured her hands.

Ochaco and Present Mic[]

The Supplement
Mic normally wouldn't need to use a megaphone (since he's got his Voice Quirk), but he thought about it in the moment and realized he shouldn't cause undue distress for the citizens he was addressing.

Civilians[]

These two dudes expressed their indignstion back on page 92.

They're the same two who were interviewed on the street after Endeavor's fight against High-End, in Kyushu.

They've maintained a pretty consistent stance.

All Might and Ectoplasm[]

The line in panel two of the next page (written in katakana in the Japanese version) was spoken by Ectoplasm Sensei. Sorry if that wasn't clear!

The Character Popularity Poll[]

This man appeared way back in chapter 1. He doesn't actually remember Deku from that day.

The seventh annual character popularity poll is over, and you'll find the results at the end of this book! Normally, these results would first appear alongside a given chapter in Weekly Shonen Jump, and you wouldn't get them in paperback form until it was time for that same weekly chapter to be included in a volume. But this time, you're getting the results first, without that accompanying chapter.

Why is that, exactly? I haven't the faintest idea.

The last poll results were in volume 30, so the crowd that only buys the volumes came out in droves when it came time to vote. Just get through the final two chapters of the book, and you'll get to enjoy those poll results for yourself! In the meantime, I'm going to take a little nap while you read the chapter titled "Rest!!"
