U.A. Students vs. Hoyo Makihara

U.A. Students vs. Hoyo Makihara is a battle fought between U.A. students Can't Stop Twinkling, Grape Juice, Bakugo, Red Riot, and Chargebolt against the villain Mummy during the Hero Work Recommendation Project.

Prologue[]

On the occasion of the Hero Work Recommendation Project, Class 1-A is in Nabu Island running a Hero Office to gain experience as heroes. Most of the students are in the agency, while the rest are performing minor tasks for the residents.

Nine and his crew arrive on the island with the intention of stealing the Quirk from a little boy called Katsuma. They hijacked a ferry and crashed into the Nabu Island harbor. Residents flee as the villains arrived. Once they have landed on the island, Nine tells his teammates to cut communications to isolate the island and cause as much destruction as possible as a distraction while he hunts down the boy.

Mummy focuses his efforts on attacking the urban area near the Commercial Area, using his Mummification Quirk to mummify and reanimate non-living objects into massive puppets. Minoru, Toru, and Yuga are in the mall helping a tourist who had lost her suitcase when they heard explosions. When they come out, they see a lot of humanoid figures wrapped in red bandages attacking the town, so they prepare to face them while the civilians escape.^[1]

Battle[]

Upon seeing the puppets, Minoru tells Yuga to use his Quirk to defeat them. Yuga immediately uses his Navel Laser and destroys various puppets. Mummy makes an appearance, surprised that on that remote place there were three heroes to face him, and uses his Quirk to create even more puppets, much to Yuga and Minoru's shock, and attacks the students.

Yuga continues firing more light beams but the villain manipulates the puppets to avoid the laser. Then Minoru fights back with his Pop Off Quirk, trapping and sticking together the puppets, which makes it easier for Yuga to destroy them. As he continues to launch his purple spheres, Minoru desperately asks Toru to notify the office about the assault, but she replies that she can't since the communication service is dead. Yuga also warns that he cannot continue shooting for long before his stomach starts to ache.

Although they cannot contact headquarters, their classmates were not long in being warned of the attack of the villains across the town, and Tenya splits the Class into groups in order to deal with the separate threats.

At the downtown hospital clinic, Minoru, Yuga, and Toru fend off against Mummy and the endless army of mummified puppets. Yuga and Minoru finally reached their limits and cannot continue to defend themselves. Fortunately, Katsuki, Eijiro, and Denki arrive at the scene to continue the fight, while Momo, Kyoka, and Mina provide assistance to Minoru, Yuga, and Toru. While the boys fight off against the mummified puppets, the girls evacuate the local residents nearby.

Mummy continues to attack Katsuki, Eijiro and Denki. Katsuki uses AP Shot: Auto-Cannon to destroy more of the Mummy puppets, being assisted by Eijiro. The villain finds an opening and tries to hit Katsuki, so Eijiro jumps in front of him and deflects the attack but gets caught himself when Mummy wraps one of his bandages around his arm. Katsuki destroys the fabric in time with one of his shots. However, by doing this he is captured and turned into a mummified puppet, to Eijiro and Denki's shock. Mummy explains although he cannot control living beings directly with his Quirk, Katsuki's clothes, gear, and weapons are non-living objects, so he can manipulate him through them.

Katsuki is completely controlled by Mummy, but he is trying to resist. The villain uses his newly acquired puppet to attack Eijiro and Denki against his will. The two students cannot do anything other than dodge each attack because they don't know what to do. It doesn't take long for Mummy to catch the two of them with his bandages and gives them the option of becoming his puppets or being crushed by his friend. Suddenly, the Katsuki-Puppet explodes, and when the smoke disperses, Mummy is surprised to see that Katsuki was able to free himself from his bandages by detonating one of his Grenadier Bracers.

Mummy assaults Katsuki with the remaining puppets, but he manages to dodge each attack with his superior mobility and approaches the villain, who tries to defend himself with a knife. Katsuki dodges the slash and stamps the villain against a wall. Then, he pulls out the safety pin of his remaining gauntlet to unloading all of the explosive power at point-blank range, defeating Mummy and knocking him unconscious.^[1]

Aftermath[]

Eijiro and Denki congratulate Katsuki on his victory since with the defeat of the villain, all the objects he had turned into puppets return to normal. Momo and Kyoka arrive to inform them that they have already evacuated all the citizens of the area. Katsuki tells the others to continue the evacuations as he heads off to find more villains.

Katsuki gets to where Nine is and confronts him along with Izuku, but the villain manages to defeat them. However, he cannot continue the assault due to health problems, so he and his allies temporarily withdraw. Mummy is chained and locked up inside the factory machine room.^[1]
