Main Character[]

Why was the " He is one of the main protagonist of My Hero Academia " sentence removed ? As far as I can see, he still is.

Ida/Iida[]

Why did this article never mention once that in the manga his name is spelled Tenya Ida instead of Tenya Iida? Why can't I find that anywhere on the internet?Aoyamabestboy (talk) 04:22, August 24, 2020 (UTC)

Thanks, I hate it. His name is spelled "Iida" (in all lowercase, that's "iida"), not "Ida." Please fix this, it's bothering me and I can only find the move button on this talk page and not the main article Aykrivwassup (talk) 03:35, 9 December 2020 (UTC)

The wiki uses the official Viz translations! Therefore, we changed it to Tenya Ida a month or two back. It might be minor but in his case, his brother hero team in Vigilantes is also called "Idaten" which uses Ida obviously a play on their last name. In every other medium, it is Iida but we decided in this case it was only right to change it to Ida. Viz translation overlap the Anime/Japanese unless in extreme cases where we have to pick one. I hope you understand.      Hawks       FirePsychic                         03:42, 9 December 2020 (UTC)

Tenya & Tensei's surname has always been "Ida" in VIZ's translations, not "Iida". If you buy any English volume of the manga this will be the case, and the same goes for the official online translations. I'm aware that illegal manga scanlations the anime subtitles list it as the latter, but they can't really be considered official since multiple versions exist and it's hard to differentiate between which is a good translation and which is not. Writing it as "Iida" on the wiki is the same as writing Katsuki's surname as "Bakugou" rather than "Bakugo" and Todoroki's forename as "Shouto" rather than "Shoto"; we'd be flat out ignoring the macaron rule for Īda but not Bakugō or Shōto, which makes no sense and is super inconsistent, especially considering the fact that this is supposed to be the most official English database for the series. No offence, but the personal opinions of one or two editors aren't going to be enough for us to violate our own translation policies and change the spelling back. 『  Zen。』talk  09:32, 9 December 2020 (UTC)
