The Mysterians (ミステリアン,   Misuterian^?) are a race of aliens created by Toho that first appeared in The Mysterians.

The Mysterians[]

The Mysterians were a race of aliens whose home planet, Mysteroid, was destroyed by nuclear war. They hid on the moon for several years, planning to invade and conquer Earth. With the help of their giant mecha Moguera, the Mysterians ravaged the nation of Japan in an attempt to force the Earthlings to surrender to them. However, the humans rigged a bridge with explosives and detonated it as Moguera crossed it, destroying the machine. The people of Earth banded together to form the Earth Defense Force and retaliated against the invaders, using all of their military forces along with new advanced weapons called Markalite Cannons. The Mysterians unleashed a second Moguera to strike back against the humans, but it was destroyed when it burrowed too close to a Markalite Cannon, which fell onto it and destroyed it. Eventually, the humans destroyed the Mysterians' dome using the Markalite Cannons and their VTOL aircraft, forcing the remaining Mysterian forces to leave the Earth and retreat to their space station, ending the invasion once and for all.

Weaknesses[]

As a result of the nuclear war which destroyed their planet, the Mysterians' bodies are ravaged with Strontium-90, causing roughly 80% of the newborn population to be horribly disfigured.
