Marcus Waltz may be a Sergeant, he can strict at times to his men when giving assignments and orders to any of his men. He is shown to be reasonable at times like leting Ford become part of the Company when he learned he had in the City.

Master Sergeant Marcus Waltz was in charged of a Platoon to delivered a Nuke that will destroy the MUTOs. When Lt. Ford Brody ask to joined, he declined his request as it was a high risk Mission. However, Ford told him his family was in the city, he later let Ford joined. While transporting the Nuke, they arrived at a Tunnel, and while Ford and Morales were going to investigate, Waltz and his entire Company were killed by the MUTO.
