Erica Ortegas was a 23rd century Human woman, an officer in Starfleet's operations division serving as helmsman aboard the Federation starship USS Enterprise under the command of Captain Christopher Pike in the year 2259. (SNW episode: "Strange New Worlds")

At some point, Ortegas served on the USS Parlenque. (SNW episode: "Memento Mori")

When Captain Pike and acting first officer Spock beamed to an Illyrian starship, Pike left the conn to Lieutenant Ortegas. (SNW - The Illyrian Enigma comic: "Issue 2")

Alternates timelines[]

In an alternate timeline beset by the Q Continuum's temporal anomaly crisis, versions of Ortegas arrived in the 2380s and joined Starfleet to help Q resolve the crisis. (ST video game: Timelines event: "Boogeyman")

In an alternate future were Captain Pike averted a major accident and remained in command of the Enterprise, Lieutenant Commander Ortegas remained at the helm. She displayed distrust towards Vulcans after Romulans revealed themselves to be an offshoot. (SNW episode: "A Quality of Mercy")
