Hunter's Moon[src]

History

Yehya Badr was born in Luxor, Egypt to two doctors and was an excellent student throughout his life, eventually becoming a doctor as well. He grew to become a very rational and serious person who didn't believe in any higher entities, despite still attending prayer and studying the Qur'an and Hadith. This all changed when he was attacked by Vampires and left to die on the streets, at which point he met the Egyptian Moon God Khonshu.[4]

Yehya survived and became a worshipper of Khonshu known as Hunter's Moon, the god's second high priest, and opposite of Marc Spector, the Moon Knight. After Moon Knight rejected to worship Khonshu but appropriated his mission, establishing a congregation called the Midnight Mission, Badr moved his territory and took over a free clinic in the neighborhood. Keeping watch of Moon Knight, Badr intended to correct the vigilante, whom he believed had strayed away from Khonshu's purpose.[7]

After learning that Moon Knight had taken in vampires under his protection, Badr terrorized the nightwalkers to get his attention. Hunter's Moon eventually confronted Moon Knight, chastised for taking in enemies of Khonshu and expressed his intentions to "correct" him. Badr beat Moon Knight and invaded the Midnight Mission to kill the vampires, but Spector recovered and knocked him unconscious after attacking him from behind. Dragging Badr outside his building, Moon Knight warned him about crossing him again.[8]

Some time later, however, the young vampire Reese approached him and begged him to help Spector, who was in very bad shape. Impressed by her bravery in coming to him, Badr realized Spector couldn't be such a bad person if he could inspire such loyalty and decided to help him.[4]

While Moon Knight was imprisoned in the Myrmidon, Badr filled in as "Doctor Moon". He encountered Moon Knight's old foe Stained Glass Scarlet, who had become a goddess of vengeance. He narrowly escaped by invoking Khonshu, who overpowered her.[2] Zodiac and his minions captured Hunter's Moon, holding him hostage to force Reese out of the Midnight Mission. Moon Knight took a portal through Khonshu's realm to arrive at the scene, and he calmed the Fists of Khonshu who streamed out in pursuit.[9]

Hunter's Moon saved Moon Knight from the hired assassins Nemean and Grand Mal, but the two later ambushed him with a horde of vampires and killed him. Khonshu resurrected him, and he joined Moon Knight to attack the Tutor's vampire summit.[10]
