Preliminary sketch

  • Tom Feister's original sketch for Cover A showed Scarlett in front of a burning Confederate flag. Although Feister preferred that to the cover that was eventually used,[1] it was shot down, likely to avoid any controversy over the use of a blatantly racist symbol.
  • To be a member of the Joes in IDW's universe, you have to be declared legally dead. Scarlett's cover story was that she died in a car crash. The details of that crash are revealed in the background of this issue's cover.
