Information

Dearia (ディアリア, Diaria) is one of the main characters of Dragon Goes House-Hunting series. Dearia is a beautiful elven man who works in architecture and real estate. He saved Letty and now helps him on his quest. He also has a side gig as a demon lord (aka Dark Lord).

Appearance[]

Dearia is a young, fine looking adult elf despite being centuries old.

His skin is pale white. He has a long white hair draped over his head and shoulders and extends all the way down to his ankles, a single braided hair can be seen on his left side. His irises are violet.

He wears fine clothing, a white rope with gold embroidery and a black garb. His wears a few jewelry including a thin gold tiara and a gold brooch with a giant emerald gem embedded in.

Personality[]

Dearia is well-mannered, realistic, apathetic, and kind. He only uses his magic if necessary and prefers a hands off approach when it comes to teaching others — such as Letty’s “training arcs” mentioned several times in the series.

Earlier in his life, he was often driven by an insatiable thirst for knowledge, and there is still a chance he lives this passion via travelling with clinets and learning about them and their preferences.

Dearia isn't completely emotionless, but rather just hides them well (Unless he is happy then he will give a polite smile).

History[]

As a child, Dearia lived in a hidden village in the branches of Yggdrasil. He had a insatiable thirst for knowledge and spent most of his youth reading books.

He often wanted to study alone because he lived in a nursery. After he broke a branch for trying to make a hidey hole, the elf council decided to send him to be an apprentice to the Great Wise Serpent, Jormungandr, in a snowy region far north by the frozen Ergot sea.

Jormungandr, however, frequently broke his home he needed to stay warm and sleep in. After repeated attempts to build a home to withstand the serpent, he ultimately settled for a tent on the serpent’s head.

Sometimes later in his life, he visited a market for a book he ordered. He saw and became curious about the Dark Lord Lottery being hosted there and participated in hopes for the various prizes it offered. To his dismay, he won first prize, the title of the Dark Lord. He repeatedly attempted to get out of it, but they would not let him. He considered this his most unlucky day.

When he was forcibly taken to the Dark Lord’s palace for the inauguration ceremony, he again tried to evade the title. After his court fruitlessly attempted to get him to return again to the throne, they eventually allowed him to leave only after he signed some paperwork. He spent the next several centuries as Dark Lord in name only.

When an overbearing dark dragon by the name of Varney sought him out for a new home. He was reluctant to deal with the dragon at first. But after being motivated by his master, Jormungandr, to help the dragon, he ended up helping him search for a new home for around 100 years. This experience changed his perspective on the world.

He later earns an architect license and becomes a world-renowned architect and real estate agent. He still retains the name of the Dark Lord (sometimes referred as Demon Lord) to this day.

Plot[]

Seeing a group of heroes bully Letty under Yggdrasil, Dearia decides to intervene and save the dragon.

The red dragon introduces himself and explains how he got kicked out of his home and that he is seeking a famous elven architect to help him find a new home. Dearia reveals that he is the architect and real estate agent and agrees to help Letty find a him a new home and starts showing him properties that were recently put for sale.

He often protects Letty but sometimes would leave him alone for the sake of helping him learn valuable life lessons.

Relationships[]

Letty[]

Dearia and Letty have a good teacher-student relationship. Not only does Dearia help Letty look for a home, but he likes to teach Letty lessons. He tends to have confused exclamantions to many of Letty's sudden doings. He quite enjoys Letty's company and antics and enjoys teaching Letty like his teacher taught him. Dearia is seen as extremely wise and all knowing to Letty (And this is pretty much true in all reality). Dearia seems to quite enjoy Letty's personality much more than Varney's, since Letty doesn't partake in senseless violence (Or any violence for that matter).

Varney[]

Varney is Dearia's oldest clinent and in a sense, friend. Dearia seems to have some resentment towards Varney, as seen in Book 7. Dearia suffers a similar issue to Letty's, where Varney seems to think of Dearia as the “Dark Lord“, but Dearia has no interest in being called the dark lord. Varney took advantage of Dearia's power, and used it as a way to harm others for him homes. Despite this, Dearia did enjoy Varney's company, and is even considered by Emile to be his brother.

Emile[]

Emile has a lot of praise to give Dearia for helping his dad and being his powerful big “brother“. Dearia still helps Emile despite having a bit of resentment towards Varney.

Nell[]

Nell and Dearia don't interact too much, and they don't seem to have interacted much outside of what the viewer can see, seeing as Nell refers to him “The elf“. She shares a similar mindset to Letty, going to him for advice.
