📣 Great news! The EU and Singapore concluded the negotiations for a Digital Trade Agreement (DTA), the first of its kind. It will benefit businesses and consumers engaging in digital trade by: ◾ facilitating digitally-enabled trade in goods and services; ◾ ensuring cross-border data flows free of unjustified barriers; ◾ enhancing trust in digital trade, including through strong rules on spam. The agreement puts the EU and Singapore at the forefront of digital policy developments while upholding open and fair digital economies. 🇪🇺💡 Around 2 out of 3 Europeans trust the EU to conduct its trade policy in an open and transparent matter. We can confirm. The European Commission has a firm commitment to being the world’s most transparent public institution in the field of trade policy. 🇪🇺💡 Last year, we identified and assessed more than 900 documents in reply to access to documents requests, corresponding to more than 4500 pages. We regularly update our website with reports on ongoing negotiations and meetings with civil society. 🇪🇺💡 We believe that transparency and accountability is key to making good policy. And we're glad that EU citizens trust us for doing so. Find out more about the Eurobarometer results ↓ http://europa.eu/!tDnvPT #Eurobarometer #Transparency #EUTrade

New International Trade Committee is all set! 🥂   The Committee on International Trade (INTA) is responsible for matters relating to the establishment, implementation and monitoring of the EU's trade policy.   Together with the Council’s Trade Policy Committee, it deliberates on the European Commission’s proposals on trade agreements and trade legislation, and represents the Parliament in trilogue negotiations with the Commission and the Council. Looking forward to working with the European Parliament on all trade matters. 🤝

🇪🇺🤝🌐 Europe’s trading power and economic openness is essential to our prosperity. And that is reflected in the political guidelines for the next Commission. Read the full text below ↓ Trade is an important pillar of our economic foreign policy. We will continue to deepen our free and fair trade links with growth centres and partners around the world, ensuring reciprocity and a level playing field. In order to ensure access to what we need to build diversified and resilient supply chains,we will also develop a new range of Clean Trade and Investment Partnerships and deepen our relationships on critical minerals and raw materials. To support this, we must sustain and improve rules-based trade, including through a reformed and strengthened World Trade Organization. At the same time, we will be more ambitious in enforcing our trade agreements and will use all of our trade defence instruments where and when needed. 🇪🇺🤝🌐 We will continue to deepen our free and fair trade links with growth centres and partners around the world, ensuring reciprocity and a level playing field. 🇪🇺🍾 Congratulations to Ursula von der Leyen on your re-election as Commission President. We think champagne is in order, one of the EU's most festive export products. Over the last 20 years, exports of champagne outside the EU have doubled. Thanks to the outstanding quality of the product, of course, but also thanks to the EU's global network of trade agreements. "I really think that these trade agreements have enabled winegrowers to develop at the same time as the champagne producers, with a very, very significant dynamism of countries like South Korea and Japan," says Nicolas Follet, a winemaker from the Champagne Follet-Ramillon. 🇪🇺🍾 He is one of the winemakers talking about the art of making champagne, and the benefits the winemakers' experience with the EU's trade agreements. Have a look. Santé!
