This guide will step you through the process of updating your Mozilla Firefox web browser.
Do you need to know what version of Firefox do I have?
Depending on your settings, Android may automatically download and install Firefox updates for you.
This guide will show you how to manually trigger Android to check for Firefox updates and install them if they are found.
Down the bottom of the Play Store, you will see a few buttons; tap the button to expand the Side Menu (it looks like three vertical lines next to each other) to see more options.
When the side menu expands you will see lots of options; near the top is one called "My apps & games". Tap on it to open the list of all the Apps and Games you have installed.
You will see a list of all of your installed apps and games - it will be a list of ones which are up to date and ones which need to be updated... to save scrolling through the potentially huge list of apps that you've got, tap the Updates tab at the top to view only the apps which have pending updates.
Scroll down through the list of apps with updates until you find Firefox's entry in the list. There will be an Update button next to it.
The Play Store will now download and install the latest version of Mozilla Firefox. Depending on your internet connection this may be very quick or might take a few minutes. You can speed it up by connecting to a WiFi network first.
After the Play Store has finished installing the update you will now have the latest version of Firefox!
If you find the icon in the Apps & Games listing, you will see the button now says Open instead of Update.
If you tap Open it will launch the updated version.
Congratulations, you have now ensured that your copy of Firefox on your Android is up to date. Confirm this by using our page to check if your browser is up to date.
We hope that helped you! Running an up to date browser is a big step in staying safe online; so well done!.
