Reviews
(1-25 of 49)The absolute Way to manage SEO
- Reports detail accurately of the current performance
- It is capable of sampling out SEO issues to improve your ranking.
- It constantly tracks search results
- I find it hard to recrawl URLs using the inspection tool.
- Reports highlight so much data making it hard to follow up during analysis.
- Provides insightful data.
- Provide Opportunity to available URL on google.

Search Console Review
- provide data
- monitor performance
- guide in improving websites organic traffic
- better filter option on the performance section with ability to get data for a list of pages instead of just a single pages
- Keywords
- Impressions/clicks
- Rich results
- Data is inconsistent from Google Trends & Analytics.
I find this an important piece that ties to Google Analytics to monitor traffic, specifically search traffic so we know what keywords are working and what users are searching for.
- Providing Search Terms for what real people are searching for
- Providing Appearance Rankings for where my websites appear in search results
- Providing what problems may exist with indexing sites
- Does not accept .html formatted xml sitemaps.
- I don't think indexing is always complete for websites I've submitted
Some of my websites have many pages so it's great to see how the individual pages appear in search results (ranking). This is important because every site owner wants their pages to appear in that magic number one spot and often don't understand that not everyone can be #1. Being able to see the keywords that people are using to get the results that they do.
For some of my site owners, they get it once they can see the data. Others need more help.
Great way to keep track of website problems
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot your site's presence in Google Search results.
- Helps you understand and improve how Google views your site.
- Fix new or updated content indexing issues.
- Some features only work well in conjunction with other Google tools such as Google Analytics, Google Trends and Google Ads.
- It's is a bit hard to use.
- Sometimes it does not give the answers or the specific searches.
Good, Limited Search Engine Terms + Results Tool
- Search Engine Terms Visualization
- Ability to sort based on times/pages
- Difficult to understand HOW to make improvements
- Lack of suggestion for rating terms you want to rank for but don't
There's a reason why everyone uses this
- Easy-to-read graphs and reports
- Supports multiple sites/domains
- Free to use
- Easy to setup (especially in conjunction with Google Analytics)
- Easily identify best performing pages on a site
- Doesn't show ALL backlinks to each page - only a selection
- Mobile usability errors are sometimes inaccurate - giving a false positive
- Data is delayed by a few days
There are few cases where this type of tool isn't useful - such as for managers of internal websites and intranets - anywhere where organic search is not a factor.
Essential SEO Performance Dashboard
- Provides ongoing monitoring of website performance.
- Identifies potential issues that could impact a website's SEO.
- Convenient dashboard format of information.
- Not user-friendly for non-technical individuals or people with more basic SEO knowledge.
- Doesn't always provide specific examples of errors identified.
Google Search Console is easy to set up. Instrumental in guiding our SEO/M. No longer a shot in the dark!
- Keyword insight
- CTR
- Data takes some time to come thru (at least 2-3 days delay iirc)
Great for a small team where decisions to pivot can be made quickly.
Useful as part of the larger Google toolset. E.g. we use Google Search Console together with Google Analytics, Google Ads etc. to guide our work
Every SEO should use Google Search Console
- Link review for SEO.
- Search keywords and performance.
- Page experience monitoring.
- No detection dates on the incoming links.
- Mobile usability suggestions are not always helpful.
- Security issues are not listed - Just "no issues detected."
The best old friend for your fresh website
- SEO issues detection.
- See pages as search spider sees.
- Managing external links.
- Sometimes it's hard to navigate through the console.
- Indexing results should have better views.
GSC: Can't beat the price!
- Analyze basic search engine performance.
- Identify potential website issues.
- Track search results and landing pages in a more granular way.
- The streamlined toolset removed some key tools we used to utilize.
- It is more difficult to implement re-crawl requests and know when to expect answers.
- Sharing access with additional users is more challenging.
- Data on impressions, clicks and average position in Google results.
- You submit your sitemap and can check for issues.
- None
Google Search Console is a Go To, Must Use SEO Tool for Beginners to Advanced Users
- Keyword specific performance data for SEO.
- Technical SEO feedback including site speed, mobile usability and much more.
- Some features are still in beta and thus have limited or incomplete data.
- The coverage report can have overwhelming data that makes it hard to know what is a concern and what is ok.
Google Search Console is in the same family of Google analytics
- The best way to analyze your google SEO.
- It helps to find who is linking to your site.
- The way it shows your sites is a bit confusing. It shows your URL as different sites for "HTTP" and https" It should consider that the same site.
- This tool could easily be combined with Google Analytics. Currently, it just adds another step to the SEO process.
Google Search Console - Not bad for free
- Allows you to directly submit a sitemap to Google for crawling.
- Shows common search queries used to access site.
- Recrawling of pages that have suggested improvements is very slow
- Disavowing non-existent URLS doesn't remove them from the error report
- The "new" SC's Overview is great for sharing with clients as it's a simplified presentation of different data with graphs.
- Performance is my turf. It is designed for me at a glance to recognize the peaks and valleys of traffic. Clicks v. Impressions remains something central to SEO and other marketing efforts.
- This is surely subjective, but as long as I could, I used the old SC but now that I am forced to just use the new, there still is a bit of a learning curve. Again, this is not a fair complaint as in time all will be forgotten, but I really do miss the old version.
- One thing I do not like is the loss of the Manual URL Submission. I understand why it's been removed, but sometimes I am doing refreshes of pages and want that new version visited and reindexed ASAP rather than have to wait for Google to revisit.
Google Search Console - What Else is There
- We use to track the pages indexed in Google Search Console through our site map submissions and general crawl. We see what causes some pages from not getting indexed.
- It also shows insights into links, keywords and page load issues
- Tracks indexed pages of your website
- Insights into use of schema
- Keyword information
- Could use more details on why pages not indexed
Search console is a must have tool for every website owner whether small or big to boost SERPs.
- You can also submit your sitemap directly to Google and get it crawled.
- You can also index and crawl you updated and new webpages.
- It also displays errors that are preventing your site pages to get indexed in Google.
- You get a list of all the keywords for which your site is ranking.
- You can track its position, CTR and impressions.
- Sometimes, the average position it shows for a particular webpage is not that accurate.
- Understanding issues depicted by search console can be difficult at times as they are very technical.
- It doesn't accept HTML sitemaps.
Reliable, easy to learn, and filled with great insights
- Detailed insights on search query help us to identify areas of opportunity for clients.
- Great user interface makes working with GSC a breeze to learn.
- Ability to access discontinued tools allows us to use GSC our way, even when it's not necessarily what the devs intended.
- Some specific components can require more in-depth knowledge than may be expected by the average GSC user.
Not so great for seeing detailed info about WHEN people came to your site and what they did there. Switch to Google Analytics for purposes like this. GSC is more for analyzing the "why" than the "how" or "when" or "where."
Great Compliment to Google Ads and Google Analytics
- Search engine optimization.
- Analyze data.
- Audience targeting.
- Implementation,
- User-friendliness,
- Ease-of-Use.
A Necessity for Site Owners and Digital Firms
- Reporting on Search Performance: monitor, track and research your organic performance over time or compare time frames.
- Meta Data Testing and monitoring: make sure your product, events, AMP, and other meta tags are properly configured.
- Monitoring Security and Manual Actions: ensure that Google is not reducing your ranking for security issues or SEO errors.
- Producing suggestions for SEO improvements: Search Console provides links to resources to help improve the way Google crawls, indexes, and shows your website in search results.
- Reporting is strong, but could benefit from some additional functionality, such as sorting by % changed.
- Some functionality is lost in the "New" Search Console, forcing you to revert to the old version to get things done.
- Because the "Old" version doesn't have the same functions as the "New" one, you're forced to switch back and forth between both platforms to get many things accomplished.
- Many of the "Warnings" and Suggestions aren't very clear on how to fix the issue, or are vague in their explanation of what is wrong.
Torch Bearer on the Patch of Search Performance
- 70% of our traffic source is Google and Search Console gives bird eye view of our performance.
- Keeping track of mishappenings on site related to indexing.
- Tips and suggestions help improving cross-device visibility.
- Vital information columns like competition/CPC goes missing in some properties without notice.
- Severe warnings are sometimes a problem on the bot-crawling part and show nothing on the webmaster's side.
Quick, Easy and Free
- Easy-to-use UI
- Makes time period comparisons quick and easy
- Easy integration with a wide variety of marketing tools
- The mobile usability error section needs to provide more specific details about what exactly the errors are.
