One of the biggest challenges in Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) is timing. Aligning immediate business unit needs with fundraising schedules is incredibly difficult. So, what does Allstate Strategic Ventures (ASV) do differently that has enabled us to rank consistently as a top CVC globally with Global Corporate Venturing? We’ve changed the script. Historically, ASV has used warrants as a tool in our belt to get in at the right moment with disruptive companies if they are not currently fundraising. This helps to ensure mutual success, with less capital risk for the enterprise. The warrant approach has allowed us to stay top of mind and invest during subsequent rounds, while demonstrating our ability to be valuable partners. By viewing timing as an obstacle that can be overcome, ASV has developed strategies to evolve into a next-gen CVC, prioritizing both financial and strategic returns for the enterprise and our portfolio companies ASV's Managing Director, Tarik Galijasevic is deeply honored to be included in the GCV Powerlist for 2024.
