This week, our Global Product Learning Social series continued with an emphasis on the Engineering Excellence Mindset, delving into the principles and practices that drive exceptional engineering outcomes. Greg Craig, Lead Engineer in the Property Liability Technology Space, shared insights into the engineering mindset he has cultivated and instilled within his teams, demonstrating how this approach leads to the delivery of high-quality products and drives significant business value. Key responsibilities of a Product Engineer—code reuse, code quality, and product quality—are all underpinned by absolute ownership of the product. As Greg emphasized, ownership is truly the cornerstone of success. By fostering this mindset, we ensure that our outcome-based delivery model consistently provides optimal value to our customers. #EngineeringExcellence #ProductLearning #OutcomeBasedDelivery #TechInnovation #QualityEngineering #BusinessValue #ProductOwnership #TechLeadership #CodeQuality #Innovation #TechMindset

What a day! 🌈🌈 As part of our Pride Week celebrations, we were thrilled to welcome Deputy Leo Varadkar to our Belfast offices today, to participate in an open conversation with our LGBTQIA+ employee impact group, ‘Embrace’, and our Mental Health First Aid team. In line with the Belfast Pride theme of ‘Love Your Mind’, we delved into discussion on mental health, reverse mentorship, visible allyship, diversity, inclusion and equity. Leo was incredibly engaging, and generous with his answers, as he talked in depth about his experiences, and the challenges he has overcome to reach the pinnacle in his career. #PrideWeek #LoveYourMind #DiversityAndInclusion #MentalHealth #VisibleAllyship #ReverseMentorship #LGBTQIA+ #BelfastPride #Pride Stephen McKeown Susan Walker Siobhan Holland

🌟 We believe in the art of balancing work and life. Why compromise when you can have both? 🌟 Here, we champion a culture where employees, like Natasha, can pursue their passions, not just their deadlines. 🚴♀️🎨🐶 #WorkLifeBalance #PassionPursued #LiveFully #EmployeeEngagement #FlexibleWorking
🌟 Embracing Hybrid Flexible Working 🌟 One of the most rewarding aspects of hybrid flexible working is the ability to enjoy a balanced life, both professionally and personally. 🏡💼 Instead of spending my lunch breaks in an office canteen, I now get to spend quality time walking my very active dogs in the sunshine. 🐾🌳 This not only recharges me for the rest of the day but also strengthens the bond I have with them as they're not left alone at home for hours on end. This flexibility allows me to tailor my schedule to better suit my individual needs, resulting in greater productivity and overall happiness. Grateful for the opportunity to work in an environment that values and supports work-life balance. #HybridWork #FlexibleWorking #WorkLifeBalance #RemoteWork #PetLovers #Gratitude

Our community of Digital Product Managers in Belfast and Derry convened in person to engage in a Product Review simulation. This exercise underscored the significance of these sessions in showcasing the exemplary work of our product teams and establishing a comprehensive, unified view of their product space, ensuring all stakeholders are simultaneously updated. A delicious breakfast coupled with thought-provoking group discussion proved to be a real recipe for success! ☕ Ross Eley Stephen McKeown Siobhan Holland #DigitalProductManager #Product #DPM #ProductReview #Community #Learning

🏃♂️ We're rooting for our colleague Daniel as he takes on the Dublin Marathon this year in support of the Allstate Northern Ireland 2024 chosen charity, Action Mental Health. Achieving a balance between work and life is crucial, and it's inspiring to see our team members have the emotional and physical space to pursue their passions while helping others in the process. Let's support Daniel and celebrate his dedication! #Volunteering #EmployeeEngagement #DublinMarathon
Well folks , finally took the big step of signing up to participate in the Dublin Marathon on October 27th this year! I’ve been extremely lucky to secure a place through Allstate Northern Ireland in partnership with Action Mental Health I started running as a weight loss hobby around 5 years ago ! (Some might say I’d need a new hobby 😂) but going from barely able to run a mile to, 5K runs to 10K runs and over the years completed around a dozen half marathons I thought this would be the next big challenge! I think in 2024, we all know how serious and important it is to keep strong mental health, we’ve all trials and tribulations in our own heads, our friends and family. That being said, I think it’s more important than ever to get behind and support Mental Health Organisation's that do some incredible work in our own communities! Any support, financial or otherwise would be genuinely appreciated! Who fancies a run this evening 😂🤦🏻♂️

🌲 Throughout June, dedicated Allstate volunteers participated in the Treekly "Turning Footsteps into Forests" Challenge, organized by our Allstate environmental committee, AllGreen. 🚶♂️ This challenge required participants to achieve a daily goal of 5,000 steps, for 30 days. Each participant's success contributed directly to the planting of mangrove trees in Mteza Creek, Kenya. Collectively, the team accomplished an impressive 23 million steps, resulting in the planting of 3,278 trees and generating 102 days of fair-wage employment for local Kenyan communities. It is estimated that by 2050, these trees will eliminate over 1,000 tonnes of CO2, significantly contributing to a cleaner planet. 🌎 Congratulations to the entire team of volunteers for their outstanding efforts! #climatechange #volunteering #employeeengagement

It’s the little things that make a big difference. No matter the weather, we always find ways to show our employees how much we care. Today, on this blustery July day, we did it with free ice cream (and slushies). Because sunshine is NOT a prerequisite for appreciation. 🍦 #EmployeeEngagement #Perks #FreeIceCream
