Meet Ren, one of our many #Dooglers, adept at chasing down elusive bugs. 🎾 With sharp focus, Ren turns challenges into triumphant catches!

Meet Sarah, a software engineering intern in our Zurich office. "My projects this summer center around experiments on YouTube,” Sarah explained. “My team makes small changes — like tweaking the video recommendations algorithms — and this updated version of Youtube is shown to a small percentage of users. If the metrics improve for those users in comparison to our control group, the feature might be rolled out to everyone!” Notably, Sarah’s path to Google started with our conference scholarship program. “I was awarded the Generation Google Scholarship for women in computer science in Ireland in 2022, and that’s where my journey to Google began! Receiving the scholarship gave me the confidence boost I needed to apply for the STEP internship program last summer. I’m incredibly grateful for programs that encourage more women into computer science, as it helped me open doors to opportunities I never dreamed about.”

“As a tech enthusiast, I’m passionate about leveraging technology to empower society, businesses, and people’s lives. As a woman in tech, I’d love to bring more representation and encourage more women pursue a career in the industry.” Meet Amelie Li, Hong Kong-based MBA intern working on Google Cloud’s Go-to-Market team. This summer, Amelie is analyzing how businesses can leverage Google Cloud and AI products to grow — and she’s excited to build her skills in the process. “Google is more like a university for me, and I’m learning and growing everyday. While this learning occurs in internal training courses and mentorship programs, the most valuable lessons come from the people themselves. Googlers’ collaborative spirit, innovative problem-solving approach, and genuine willingness to help each other make Google, Google. And all of that equips me to contribute meaningfully to the company’s success.”

Last month, #Googleinterns were invited to participate in a cooking workshop and competition! Led by their office's head chef, interns first learned about Google's culinary operations before participating in a guided lesson in preparing sashimi and tabun-baked bread. Afterwards, the food was tasted & critiqued, and a winner was declared. Congratulations to Meyrav: a software engineering intern! "It was fantastic to meet other interns, learn new cooking techniques, and get to know the amazing food team," Meyrav shared. "Apparently, Chef Nisim was impressed by my first-time sashimi, because I was thrilled to be announced as a winner!" Congratulations to Meyrav, we hope you're enjoying #lifeatGoogle!
