About us

Avoq is an advocacy firm that helps companies, organizations and industries elevate ideas, build brands, and tackle reputation or policy challenges. We combine communications and advocacy to creatively shape narratives, manage brand reputation, influence national debates, and engage the audiences you need to reach. We embrace an ethos of creative advocacy — informed thinking, fresh perspectives, and unique solutions — to drive outcomes with the right audiences at the right time. We don’t start with an idea; we start with a hypothesis. But instead of relying on intuition, our network of more than 200 professionals expertly meets today’s complex communications and policy challenges with a thoughtful, evidence-based approach that blends data, insights, and creativity. We think unconventionally and examine problems from all sides to find the right solution for you.

Sarah Hamilton, Partner and Midwest Public Affairs lead, was featured in PRovoke Media, sharing thoughts on VP Kamala Harris and how her team can effectively communicate and rally voters: https://lnkd.in/dPKV7jXq “She needs to be on the campaign trail every day making the case for her candidacy in clear and relatable language that speaks to the kitchen table issues people care about: healthcare, jobs, the price of food, the economy, and the safety of their children. Her pick for VP must do the same, and the Democrats will need to mount a robust surrogate operation to make the choice very clear.”

At Avoq, we prioritize understanding the motivations of different audiences, helping us offer solutions that make an impact. Our 2024 RNC Impact Report dives into what media stories gained the most traction and what resonated online during last week’s convention. The findings help us understand how key moments from the Convention resonated inside the hall and online – and what contrasts in these reactions tell us about what’s important to stakeholder groups important to our clients. Attending and participating in a party convention is a vital part of engaging with policymakers and advocating on behalf of clients for their policy priorities. The Avoq GOP Team was out in force doing just that last week in Milwaukee.   Whitaker Askew and his team successfully hosted the famed “Warehouse Party” – THE unofficial “late night” party every night of the RNC Convention. Each night, the party brought together more than 800 corporate sponsors, convention-goers, government and political leaders to enjoy live musical entertainment, networking and merriment.   Bryce Harlow was on the ground for two weeks working on the official proceedings of the convention. In conjunction with the campaign, his task was to be sure the official business of the convention was completed and that the convention program ran on schedule. Bryce and his team were responsible for over 100 speakers and all their logistics until they appeared on stage.    Natalie Farr Harrison was representing several Avoq clients at industry events, receptions and within the convention hall itself. She spoke on behalf of a client at a tech policy forum called Innovation Nation, attended by several Members of Congress and business leaders, and delivered a donation to a local charity on behalf of sponsoring entities.

Last week was a whirlwind. Avoq had a front-row seat to the defining moments of the Republican National Convention thanks to members of our GR Team in Milwaukee and our Insights team keeping us in the know of what everyone was talking about online. Here’s what we heard:

We’re excited to share that our work with the Science & Technology Action Committee (STAC) State of Science in America Report has been recognized as a “Grand Winner” at the Apex Awards. We supported STAC to write and illustrate the critical need to advance science and technology in the United States.   Out of the 1,100+ entries in APEX 2024, just 100 Grand Award Winners were selected. Congratulations to STAC and our team! https://lnkd.in/eQgwgjzc

Last week, our New York office hosted its monthly Avoqados Wine Club where they tasted from an impressive selection of orange, white, rosé and red wines. We love any chance for after-work get-togethers! What does your team do for team-building?

My colleagues and I recently attended the Washington Space Business Roundtable Luncheon to learn more about the next generation of launch in the space economy. Did you know... 🚀 The increasing number of launch companies is matched by a growing demand for their services. This demand enables startups worldwide to compete and secure their market share, despite the significant expansion of major players like SpaceX over the past decade. 🚀 The space launch market has increasingly democratized and some of the most exciting startups can be found across both North America and Asia. 🚀 With the surge in satellite launches each month, concerns about space debris are escalating among satellite companies, service providers, and national governments. More efforts are needed in this area to prevent potential major catastrophes.
