Congratulations to all the students who competed at this year’s International Rocketry Challenge during #FIA2024, including Tharptown High School from Russellville, Alabama, representing the United States, who placed second behind the United Kingdom. “This year’s participants took on the challenge to design, build, and launch each model rocket, and by doing so demonstrated their ability to innovate, create and collaborate – key skills we need in our future leaders to create a safer and more connected world,” said Pam Erickson, senior vice president & chief communications officer, RTX. This annual competition sponsored by RTX expands the reach of rocketry to students around the world in effort to help inspire them to pursue careers in STEM. Learn more: https://rtxcorp.co/4fhGwSn

With our industry peers, we're driving toward more sustainable flight, and committing to expanding research into the climate impact of non-CO2 emissions. #FIA2024
Today I joined fellow aviation industry CTOs at the Farnborough International Airshow in calling for expanded research into the climate impacts of aviation non-CO2 emissions. As the industry drives for a more sustainable future — including net zero by 2050 — it is also important that we accelerate efforts critical to understanding and reducing aviation’s non-CO2 impacts on climate change. RTX supports this future, and we are applying the full weight of the company to develop new technologies, including more advanced and efficient jet engines, a deeper understanding of fuel properties on non-CO2 emissions, and data-driven tools for flight trajectory optimization. #FIA2024 https://lnkd.in/es9ddgES
