We all have someone in mind when we think of cancer. For 15 years, we’ve joined Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) to raise awareness for critical cancer research. For the first time ever, we extended SU2C’s annual Placard Moment™ at Major League Baseball (MLB) All-Star Game™ presented by Mastercard into a movement via our custom 'I Stand Up For' filter on social media. The digital placard enables everyone to share their name and story. The momentum was fueled with the help of our ambassadors like Lionel Messi, CC Sabathia, Iván "Pudge" Rodríguez’ and more. We didn’t stop there – we were in Times Square with a billboard that displayed these stories big and bold - and took over two windows at the iconic Saks Fifth Avenue flagship to encourage shoppers to show their support. We then lit up the sky across the country at Hudson Yards New York with an amazing drone show to honor those affected by cancer. Thanks to everyone who used their Mastercard to tap or order online at participating grocery stores and restaurants. Because of your support, we’ve donated $5M to Stand Up To Cancer and over $70M overall.

Last week was the 2024 Major League Baseball (MLB) All-Star Game™ presented by Mastercard, hosted in Arlington, Texas. We tapped into our role as presenting sponsor to provide an elevated cardholder and customer experience, and leaned into our 15-year collaboration with Stand Up To Cancer to support its annual Placard Moment™ in-stadium.   We supported our commitment to #SmallBusiness with our new Home Team Advantage winner, Ella B's Restaurant, who received critical resources and exclusive concession space at Mastercard’s Food Truck Row, and threw out the coveted ceremonial first pitch. We celebrated the 10th anniversary of our #Girls4Tech program by inviting 18 local students to walk onto the field with their favorite players. We integrated #Web3 to unlock priceless experiences for fans and cardholders via our Pass to Priceless program, both at the game and throughout the season. And so much more!    Check out what was in store.

Reflecting on an incredible week at #TheOpenChampionship! ⛳️ Mastercard is proud to have been part of this historic event and bringing golf fans even closer to the sport they love. Our focus on #sustainability was at the forefront, where we provided special edition water bottles that have helped conserve over 500,000 single-use plastic water bottles since 2011. Thank you to all the fans and partners who joined us in celebrating 152 years of golf history while driving greener initiatives.

Remittance payments provide a lifeline to people and families all over the world, but improving their speed, transparency and cost is critical to furthering financial inclusion.    Our EVP, Transfer Solutions, Rasika Raina, discusses how private and public sector partnerships will be crucial to achieving this and ensuring more people can access the benefits of fast and low-cost digital remittances.   #remittances #financialinclusion #payments

Leaving your home, family, and country behind in pursuit of new opportunities is rarely ever easy. But this is something millions of people do to not only better their own lives, but those of their loved ones – regularly sending money home to help them make ends meet.   Today, around a billion people are involved with remittance payments, either by sending or receiving them. These payments are crucial to furthering financial inclusion across the globe, but there is still much that governments and industry must do.   Only by working together can the public and private sectors reduce the cost of these payments, increase transparency and speed, and meet the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals for reducing inequality.   Innovations and strong partnerships in countries like India are showing us the way to a better, more financially inclusive world. Read how banks, payments providers and governments must come together to further digital remittances and foster greater inclusion.    #remittances #financialinclusion #payments
