A-5 Sticky Situation
A-5: Sticky Situation is the fifth mission for the Gloomy Manor. In this mission, the Manor has become overrun by spiders and their webs, and it's up to Luigi to clean them all up. In this Luigi's Mansion 2 HD walkthrough, we will give your step-by-step instructions to completing the level in its entirety, including Boo and Gem locations.
Guard Hall
You can revisit any of the previous rooms for a bit of cash and to pick up any Gems you may have missed. Once you're ready to move forward with the mission, head into the Mudroom and Garage to clean any webs that might be hanging around in there. Then, move onto Guard Hall to start clearing that space out too.
Take care as you get rid of the webs not to get hit by the suits of armor or any of the spiders that will begin to descend upon you. Once you have sucked up all the spider webs, a confirmation noise will sound and the room will sparkle. When it does, continue on to the Common Hall.
Common Hall
A giant spider web now blocks part of the hall, just like the one in the Master Hall. Suck up the large ball of web on the ground and carry it over to the candlestick you will find sitting on a small table at the back. Hold the ball of web over the candles to set it on fire, and use it to ignite any and all webs and spiders in the hall.
With the Common Hall cleared, move upstairs to the Master Hall.
Master Hall
The Master Hall is also covered in spider webs that are blocking your passage, but the ball of web is attached to the ceiling by a string and is unable to reach the nearby candlesticks. First, interact with the candlestick on the right wall beside the painting to make it fall upside down.
With the candlestick upside down, you can now reach the fire with the ball of web. Suck the ball of web into your Poltergust and drag it to the candlestick, lighting everything up and clearing your way to the next area, the Bedroom.
Bedroom
<meta /> <meta />Amethyst #13 - With the web cleared you can finally reach the gem that has been behind the divider this whole time!
The web in the Bedroom that was once an eyesore can finally be dealt with. Activate the stove to start a fire and turn your attention to the ball of web stuck to the fan.
Using the Poltergust, spin the fan to guide the ball of web through the stove, and back over to the web wall to clear it out. With the Bedroom clear, use the bed to travel to the Study.
Study
Clear the floors and ceiling of any and all webs, then use the fireplace to drop down to the Studio. If you didn't backtrack with your Dark-Light to collect the Gem in this room before, take the opportunity to suck the curtains off the painting on the left side of the room and use the Dark-Light to reveal it now.
Studio
A couple of Hiders will ambush you here, so quickly suck them up with your Poltergust along with any webs and head back into the Common Hall. From there, make your way into the Library.
Library
Hidden Boo: Boothoven, formerly known as Ooga Booga in the 3DS version - The Boo is hiding in the piano on the right side of the bottom floor in the Library. Shine your Dark-Light on the piano to summon the Boo.
Since the Library spans multiple floors, you'll need to clean all the webs on both levels to finish the mission. Once you are done with the first floor, start making your way up through the Kitchen and Dining Room to clear the second floor.
The Dining Room and Kitchen each have their share of webs and/or ghosts to suck up, so keep your eyes peeled and make sure you're getting them all. Remember, you won't be able to complete the level until every single web is dealt with. Some webs are difficult to spot, like the ones in the dumbwaiter, so stay sharp and don't move on until the exclamation mark on the room you're in has disappeared on the map.
Library (Second Floor)
Notice the painting of a fire along the back wall. Use the Dark-Light to bring the fire to life, then ignite the ball of web to get rid of the last webs in the Library.
Head into the Lobby and shine your Dark-Light on the right wall to make a door appear. Don't forget to flash the safe in the Lobby for some more coins as you head past!
Porch
Use your Poltergust flash to turn on the grill, and drag the dangling ball of web toward it to ignite the large wall blocking the way forward. From there, you can pick up the ball of web on the ground and set that on fire to get rid of the other webs around the corner.
Once you are finished clearing all the webs on the balcony, return to the Master Hall and head to the very back. Yank on the dangling rope with your Poltergust to make a set of stairs fall from the ceiling and climb up them to reach the Attic.
Rafters
<meta /> <meta />Amethyst #12 - Before cleaning out the cobwebs, head to the far right side to find a dresser with a gem attached to the top.
Start making your way around the Attic, being careful of the suit of armor that stabs if you get close. Cross the narrow beam carefully, making sure to hold your controller as still as you can (avoid doing this in a moving vehicle!) to get to the other side.
Upon reaching the fire painting, reveal it with your Dark-Light and use it to ignite the web wall on the right. Lastly, move down and suck out the cheese painting to reveal another fire painting that will dispel the last of the giant cobwebs. You're now ready to move on to the next quest, A-6 Confront the Source.
If the Professor doesn't call you at this point to transport you back to his Lab, open the map and make sure you've cleared all rooms of webs. If not, make your way back down to clear the last rooms out.
Money Spot - A safe lies to the left of the Attic entrance, and it's filled with money! Flash it to collect your bounty.
