A-1 Poltergust 5000
Mission A-1: Poltergust 5000 is the first mission for the Gloomy Manor. This Luigi's Mansion 2 HD walkthrough will cover the entire quest from start to finish, so you can find the Poltergust 5000, locate its attachments, and suck up any ghosts you encounter along the way.
Front Yard
Once you've been pixelated in front of the Manor, head onto the porch and turn left. The door is locked and the key won't show itself until after you've peeked through the window to spy on the ghosts in the garage. Once you've seen the ghosts take something from the car and disappear, head back to the door. After trying to open it, a mouse will appear carrying the door key. Give chase around the front yard until you catch it, and proceed into the Manor itself.
There isn't much you can do in the Manor without the Poltergust, so head in the door on the left to reach the Garage.
Garage
Hidden Boo: Boogie Woogie - You won't be able to locate him on your first run through this level. But once you have obtained the Dark-Light, return to the Garage and shine it to the right of the car after clearing a junk pile to reveal a large wheel. Doing so will lure the Boo out of hiding.
Open the car to find the Poltergust and equip it. There is a chest containing a key on the left side of the room, so suck up the sheet covering the chest, then get rid of the junk piles blocking the door. Feel free to turn the Poltergust on everything in the room, as many coins litter the ceiling. Before you leave, you can check out the window to further spy on the two Greenies.
That's all for the Garage at this stage, so head back through the Entrance and to the door on the right. Suck up the curtain covering the door so you can unlock it with the Garage key and enter the Mudroom.
<meta />Money Spot: Blow out all the candles from the chandelier in the Entrance to receive a shower of money!
Mudroom
There is a key hidden on the ceiling fan in the Mudroom. To claim it, use the Poltergust to spin the fan, causing the key to dislodge. Now Luigi can pass through the Guard Hall to enter the Foyer.
<meta />Money Spots: Pull back the rug to reveal a pressure plate. An alcove will open near the window, spewing out a ton of cash! Also don't forget some money caught in a web near the ceiling.
Guard Hall
Be sure to hold B to sprint through the hall, as the suits of armor will strike as Luigi passes. Also note a few coins are hidden behind some wallpaper at the beginning of the hall.
Foyer
After the Greenies have left, you will be tasked with retrieving the Stroboscope, which is an integral part of the Poltergust 5000. Run up the stairs and around to the left side of the landing, where the camera will pan to the chandelier.
Use the Poltergust to spin the fan above the chandelier, lowering it to the ground. Quickly run back down the stairs and grab the green light bulb before the chandelier raises up to the ceiling again.
Now that you have the Stroboscope, you can not only stun and capture ghosts, but you can also open doors locked by the Professor by flashing the contraption that's blocking your way. You may have noticed a similar door in the Mudroom, so make a detour there first.
Money Spot: after getting the Stroboscope head up the stairs to the vault, and flash it to get a shower of money.
Mudroom and Mudroom Exterior
Amethyst #1: Exit through the door using the new Stroboscope and suck up the gem with your Poltergust.
Take note of movement in the window, looking outside will show the paranormal pooch known as the Polterpup as he digs up an Amethyst and tosses it in a nearby tree.
Front Yard
Amethyst #2: Leave the porch and head to the left where several flowers have been planted. Give them a burst of light and they will bloom to reveal some cash and an Amethyst!
There are a few more money spots and gems you can collect with your new Poltergust attachment, so head back to the Front Yard to pick them up before progressing with the mission.
<meta />Money Spots: Now that you have the Poltergust, move past the window to the Garage and clear a junk pile to reveal a chest. You can also find some money by sucking up a sheet to the right of the porch stairs, and if you vacuum the carpet in front of the entrance, you will get a gold bar.
Coat Room
It's time to give chase to the Greenies. Enter the Coat Room and use the toilet to access a hidden bathroom. A Greenie will be busy showering, so surprise him by sucking up the curtains. Follow him as he flees to the other side of the Coat Room and prepare for your first fight.
Greenies have a very straightforward approach: They will float around, often invisible, occasionally appearing to giggle or taunt you. When near, they will wind up their fist for a strike, giving you plenty of time to flash them and suck them up.
After the first is gone, a second Greenie will appear between the coats, nab him as well, and return to the Foyer. You have now added the Greenie ghost type to your E. Gadd vault.
Foyer
In your absence, the Foyer has become host to several more Greenies. Try to position yourself to stun as many Greenies as possible with one blast of your Stroboscope. The more you wrangle at one time, the less you'll have to worry about interrupting you with an attack. Suck every last Greenie up to complete the mission and get ready to move onto the next, A-2 Gear Up.
