When you send an email to yourself, you won't receive a second copy of the message that's already in your mailbox. Each email has a unique message ID, and the same message ID cannot appear in your mailbox twice.

Why do you need a second copy of a message you already have in your mailbox? You don't receive the message because any given RFC-822 message ID can only exist in your mailbox once, and it already exists in your mailbox.

They're captured in the sent history of the group mailbox if they're sent from the group mailbox. They're captured in the sent history of the user mailbox if they're sent from the user mailbox (using the group email address).
