Arrest warrants & sanctions against Israel for plausible genocide in Gaza.
Palestinians are under occupation, apartheid, siege, kicked out of their houses & killed for the past 75 years. The United Nations has voted a territory split in 1967 but Israel has been ignoring this ever since & continued expanding settlements in the West bank, expropriating, and killing Palestinians every week. Since October 2023, this has taken dramatic proportions with over 35.000 killed, including 15.000 children, aid workers, journalists, etc. 75.000 are also missing, under rubble etc and if dead this would mean a death toll of 110.000 human lives.
Despite millions accross the world, countless countries & students protests, Israel along with their enablers (USA, UK, France, Germany etc) are refusing to stop this genocide.
Enablers have vetoed each and every U.N. Cease fire request and continued providing israel with funds & weapons.
Recently, the last know "safe zone" Rafah, has been bombarded and the killing continues.
This is indiscriminate, intentional war crime as clearly shown by Israel government statements ... human animals, no food, water or electricity, etc.
Therefore, We the undersigned citizens of countries accross the world, believe that strong action is now necessary and we hereby request that :
1) The International Criminal Court issues arrest warrants against the following, but not limited to, Israel government members :- Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, - Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, - IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi.
2) The United Nations issues immediate Cease Fire, no fly zones, sanctions and embargo against the state of Israel for "plausible genocide", including but not limited to : - Trade sanctions on all imports into Israel and exports from Israel, - Forbid exploitation of natural resources by Israel on established United Nations Palestinian territories, - Render illegal and subject to prosecution and sanctions any country supporting Israel financially or with weapons transfer. It is crucial to halt arms transfers to Israel, including export licenses and military aid.
In February 2024, UN experts warned that any sale and supply of weapons to Israel being used in Gaza would violate international humanitarian law and must be stopped immediately. In early April 2024, the UN Human Rights Council passed a resolution calling on states to cease the sale, transfer and diversion of arms, munitions and other military equipment to Israel. No country should be above International Law nor violate with impunity the Genocide Convention or the 1949 Geneva Conventions on the laws of war.
This request is motivated by the following verifiable facts :
1) Scale of human and infrastructure destruction in Gaza:While the killing of Palestinians by Israel military and settlers have been reported since 1948 Nakba (75 years), recently and aince October 2023 this scale of destruction has now met unprecedented levels. The Israel government and army attacks on Gaza strip since October 2023 can in no way be considered as surgical attack on Palestinians because : - Over 70% of Gaza’s population has been displaced, many several times. - More than 35,000 Palestinians have been killed (including over 15,500 children), with over 75,000 still missing, which if killed would bring the total death count to 110,000 Palestinians. - Hamas is absent from West Bank, nonetheless up until 27 March 446 Palestinians were killed in the West Bank and Jerusalem, including 113 children, and 4 inside the Green line. - Over 85% of housing and structures in the Gaza Strip have been destroyed or damaged beyond repair, including schools, universities, hospitals, churches, mosqs, libraries, private houses, apartment buildings, power and telecommunication facilities, etc. - There is no Palestinian army in Palestine. There is a however a footage of Israel Prime Minister Netanyahu confirming that Israel has been supporting and financing hamas to undermine the creation of a Palestinian state.
2) The ICJ January 2024 ruling:The International Court of Justice´s (ICJ) interim order on 26 January 2024 in the case brought by South Africa against Israel on the charge of violating the Genocide Convention is binding on Israel first and foremost. Israel has opted however to ignore this ruling and has uninterrupted it's attacks in Gaza while providing no relief to humanitarian aid. Amnesty International decried that Israel “failed to take even the bare minimum steps to comply” with the ICJ ruling. Far from preventing further deaths in Gaza, Israel’s bombardments since the ICJ order have killed a further 7,400 Palestinians. As of 17 March 2024, one third of infants suffer from acute malnutrition, according to UNICEF’s Executive Director, Catherine Russell. The WHO and the FAO say that hunger has reached levels that require large scale intervention to prevent imminent famine. Human Rights Watch revealed that the number of aid trucks entering Gaza after the ICJ ruling dropped by more than a third, as Israel has denied their entry at crossings and inspection points.
We, Citizens of the world believe that such disregard of international law and human rights should be met with adequate sanctions and restrictions.
3) Occupation and illegal expansion of settlements:Israel has been occupying and illegally expanding settlements in Palestine since 1948. Israel has opted to disregard and ignored U.N. resolution in 1967, to stop illegal expansion of settlements in Palestine. On the contrary, a drastic acceleration of settlement construction is observed, since november 2023 and in just under six months, twenty-two Palestinian communities in the West Bank have been forcibly displaced, while another 40 are under various forms of attack. Recently Israel announced its plans to build an additional 3,476 housing units for settlers in Maale Adoumim, Efrat, and Kedar.
4) Starvation / Famine:Due to Israel restrictions, the Palestinian population in Gaza has been exposed to famine for several months. This includes women and children. As of 17 March 2024, one third of infants suffer from acute malnutrition, according to UNICEF’s Executive Director, Catherine Russell. “The Israeli government’s use of starvation as a weapon of war has proven deadly for children in Gaza,” said Israel and Palestine director at Human Rights Watch.International humanitarian law prohibits the starvation of civilians as a method of warfare. The Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court provides that intentionally starving civilians by “depriving them of objects indispensable to their survival, including willfully impeding relief supplies,” is a war crime.
5) Siege, apartheid and human rights violations:Palestinian land and people have been under siege, with no self determination and fully controlled by Israel. This includes, but not limited to, imposed restrictions by Israel on Palestinian population to have : freedom of movement within their territories, freedom of speech, access to electricity and water, freedom for Palestinians to travel abroad (in and out) of Palestine, freedom to exploit, use and trade natural resources such as olives, olive oil, dates, crude oil and gas, etc., separate laws ruling jews from non jews, discriminatory military trials for Palestinians, which both sum up to apartheid regime, and so on.
6) Israel attack on Rafah, the last known "safe zone" for Palestinians occurs despite international request not to, including Human rights officials, United Nations and several countries worldwide.
In addition to Arrest warrants, Sanctions and embargo as above-mentioned, we encourage the United Nations to abolish the discriminatory veto power of the five U.N. permanent members,we further request the United Nations to persue and enforce international laws and Humanitarian laws so as to : - Ensure an immediate implementation of a permanent ceasefire in Palestine to end human suffering. - Enable the return of all civilian hostages and detainees on both sides. - Ensure the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians accross Palestine, and to continue to support the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). - Continue condemnation and issuance of arrest warrants for all violations of international law and/or war crimes by all parties involved in the plausible genocide in Gaza.
