It works as hoped for
I have a 10-year-old desktop computer that with its older internal electronics can only recognize up to 2.4 GHz on our fiber optic network, and thus can only achieve a 40 Mbps download speed. I plugged in this USB Adapter antenna and installed the driver as per the enclosed CD. Once installed, it "creates" a Wi-Fi 2" network. I selected this network and the Adapter allowed my computer to recognize the 5.0 GHz network band and my download speed instantly increased from 40 Mbps to 190 Mbps. Since I am not a huge tech person, I was very pleased that this product was straightforward to install and works as hoped for.
