Useful and interesting cable design
Full disclosure - this is the second Rolling Square cable I have gotten...my biggest complaint with the first one i got was that it was too short to be a true "all-in-one" charging cable. When I saw this one, I jumped on it, since the longer length (10 feet!) addressed my concerns with the other one (it was less than a foot long).The rest of this review is a bit of a re-hash of the last one, with a few additions, since this cable included a few other accessories that didn't come with the other cable...This cable has a lot of "pros":- Universal (the charger end can be adapted to be USB-C or USB-A, and the device end can use USB-C, micro-USB, or Lightning)- Magnetic attachment of the two ends for storage, along with a captive cap for the two cable ends- High power capability (100W USB PD for compatible devices)The clever bit to me was that the Lighting connector has an integrated micro-USB opening in the tip. I have not seen something like this before. It is a bit fiddly to plug it in, and as far as I can tell it is directional (if you plug it in upside down, it doesn't work). One bit of caution with this design, though...I would be careful to avoid putting any strain on the cable (and thus the micro-USB connector of your device) when using this with micro-USB devices. The cable only engages with the thin center "tongue" of the connector port with no additional support from the metal housing of the port. I don't know if I would trust the strength of that "tongue" if the cable was pulled in any direction other than straight out of the port. If I was charging a micro-USB device with this cable, I would plug it in and set it down on a table until charging was completed. I see this feature as an edge case usage for me, since I don't have a lot of micro-USB devices any more.A few things that are different for this cable (compared to the short version that I have), are some included accessories. It came with a soft rubber-like case, and a "cable organizer" + an extra adhesive pad.I'm not 100% sure what the cable organizer is for, but based on a photo in the product listing page, it looks like it is meant to magnetically attach the end of the cable to your desk when you aren't using it (the cable manager has an embedded magnet, but only one end of the cable sticks to it -- the other end repels it), and there is a raised "hook" feature that can hold the cable in place when you are using it (plugged into a device). The pre-applied adhesive pad (with the clear removable liner) looks like it may be a removable style of adhesive that you can stick to the top of your desk and then reposition it later? I peeled off part of the liner and stuck it to my desk, and then peeled it back off. It was stuck pretty well, but it came off cleanly. I'm assuming that the second adhesive pad may be a more permanent style, but this is just my own speculation. I honestly don't see much value to this cable manager, but that's just me.The included cable case is, well...different. The cable has an attached velcro strap to bundle it up, so putting it in a case seems rather redundant. I am just going to throw this in my work backpack (bundled up, with no case) so I have a universal cable handy at all times. The case offers some protection, but it's a cable. I don't know if there's much value in protecting it, personally.Despite the not-very-useful accessories, I am giving this product 5 stars - this hits all the connector options I need (mostly USB-C and Lightning, and occasional micro-USB usage).

Below is my original 5* raver of a review of this bling cable I got from rolling square but sadly less than 2 months in it’s not reliable and is forever pinging that connect/disconnect sound where the wires have gotten so bad in the bend near the tip. I use it mainly when I go to bed so it’s not like it’s going around the world with me. It’s largely hidden around the bed immobile. Another week or two and it’ll probably stop working altogether. (It did!) No way should a lead go that quickly especially with the price and what appears to be good quality exterior materials the wires inside are feeble to go so quickly.
I’ll add a pic of the tip in daylight,you can clearly see the that’s the weak point of this cable. I have a similar cable at my flat which is about six years old now - that is why i picked this cable above all others. Maybe I got a faulty cable but it seemed ok starting out as you can clearly see below.
To be fair I’ve not gotten in touch with them yet regarding my warranty. It’s progressively getting worse so hope they’ll have me fixed up or I’ll be back on the hunt for a replacement long lasting cable. As I know them from kickstarter I will give them another chance if/when a replacement is sent. Then shall update on customer care & if this was just a faulty unit. Under 2 months of light use is a joke and they’ll probably agree tho doubt they’ll admit it. Personally I doubt I’ll ever have the confidence given by my kickstarter cable which wasn’t even MFi as certs would have delayed the delivery times. Just shows that certs aren’t always necessary needed.

I know rolling square from kickstarter and this cable is probably the best I’ve had. I got it after getting a similar design and being very impressed with that,it’s still going strong a good few years down the road but they company has disappeared and rolling square’s design is the closest but has a few sweet upgrades…

I finally got around to emailing support and was sent a nice reply almost instantly and it looks like I did get a faulty cable so I’ll be getting a new one which I am sure will last longer. If you do have any issues get In touch with them as their customer care is second to none…

DOTAZIONE e DESCRIZIONE
Arriva nella sua confezione a misura e brandizzata riposto nella custodia in gomma, in dotazione c'è anche un supporto in plastica adesivo con magnete ed un pad gommoso anche questo adesivo.
Misura 300 cm di lunghezza ed è di colore bianco. Il peso è di 120 grammi.
E' dotato di 2 connettori con corpo in metallo (di cui quelli intesta sovrapponibili e ribaltabili) per lato: connettore USB-A e USB-C in entrata e connettori USB -C e Lightning che è anche Micro in uscita, per un totale quindi di 6 configurazioni diverse, secondo lo schema sotto riportato:
- Entrata: USB -A - Uscita USB-C (9V 2A / 5V 3A), Lightning (9V 2A / 5V 3A), Micro (5V 2A / 5V 1A);
- Entrata: USB -C - Uscita USB-C (20V 5A / 9V 3A / 5V 3A), Lightning (9V 2A / 5V 3A / 9V 3A), Micro (5V 2A / 5V 1A).
Anche i connettori sono dotati di magneti sul corpo per tenerli uniti in fase di stoccaggio e proteggerli con il cappuccio in gomma. Il cavo è largo circa 8 mm ed è rivestito in nylon rinforzato, protetto internamente da una guaina in TPU, con 200 fili di rame intrecciato e l'anima in fibra aramidica.
FUNZIONAMENTO ed ESPERIIENZA D'USO
Ero molto curioso di vedere da vicino questo cavo cosi particolare ed originale, perché dalle immagini e dal video sulla pagina web la sensazione che dava era quella di un cavo che usciva fuori dal coro in maniera netta, tanto da pensare che avesse aperto una nuova strada.
E' apparso subito evidente la sua robustezza e resistenza, non è paragonabile ai cavi che ho avuto fino ad adesso, un altra concezione insomma, votata all'indistruttibilità. Il corpo del cavo e quello in metallo dei connettori, maneggiandoli danno proprio una sensazione di solidità estrema, diversa da qualsiasi altro articolo del genere. Ma non colpisce solo questo. C'è un attenzione insolita nella progettazione di questo cavo che riguarda la flessibilità ed insieme la versatilità del suo utilizzo e mi riferisco alla capacità di raggiungere le 6 configurazioni sopra descritte mediante 2 sole tipologie di connettori in ingresso e in uscita, con la geniale doppia natura del connettore Lightning che è anche Micro.
Notevoli sono poi le prestazioni che gli consentono di arrivare a fornire una ricarica rapida fino a 100W da USB-C a USB-C e quella per dispositivi Apple fino a 27W. Il trasferimento dati è di 480/60 Mbps.
Molto bene anche la custodia in gomma, molto originale ed il supporto da tavolo che è in grado sia di tenerlo in posizione sia di orientare il cavo nella giusta direzione.
Il prezzo attuale di € 39,00 lo trovo in linea con sua qualità complessiva e la versatilità che è in grado di mettere sul piatto.

Mi è piaciuto molto e lo trovo particolarmente indicato per chi ha necessità di un cavo che non ha paura di torsioni, schiacciamenti e maltrattamenti simili. Il mio voto finale: 5 stelle!

La superficie esterna di questo cavo "InCharge XL" della Rolling Square è rivestita da una doppia e fitta trama intrecciata in nylon (con profilo piatto) che copre la guaina interna in TPU che a sua volta riveste i cavi in rame con anima in fibra aramidica.
Utilizzando un'alimentatore adatto, da Usb-C a Usb-C è in grado di supportare la carica fino a 100W.
Testandolo per caricare il mio laptop Huawei MateBook 14s (con batteria da 90W), la carica si è completata velocemente alla pari del cavo originale del dispositivo.
Idem per la ricarica di un PowerBank che è stata nettamente più veloce rispetto a quella che ottengo con altri cavi.
Essendo dotato di funzione Carica OTG, può anche esser utilizzato (nelle situazioni di emergenza), per ricaricare uno smartphone tramite un altro Smartphone o Tablet.
Ovviamente funziona con dispositivi compatibili con il protocollo OTG.
Le due estremità si agganciano automaticamente tramite un apposito magnete integrato e grazie al tappo protettivo in gomma possono esser protette da eventuali danni accidentali.
Se da un lato è presente un doppio spinotto Usb-A e Usb-C, dall'alto capo troviamo un triplo spinotto: Usb-C + Lightning + Micro-Usb.
Praticamente all'interno del Lightning è stata creata una fessura che lo rende compatibile con i dispositivi con ingresso Micro-Usb (Vedi inserimento nell'ingresso Micro-Usb di una racchetta antizanzare nel Video).
L'ho trovata una soluzione davvero geniale.
E' dotato delle seguenti Certificazioni: CE ed FCC.
Il costo è di € 39,00 (a Marzo 2023 per il cavo da 3 Mt.) e considerandone il livello che ho riscontrato in generale, ne fa un prodotto dal giusto rapporto qualità-prezzo anche in considerazione della ricca ed utile dotazione fornita.
Ho fatto alcune Foto ed un Video per aiutarvi a capire meglio "dal vivo" come risulta qualora decideste di valutarne l'acquisto.
Personalmente lo consiglio sia a chi desidera un cavo di carica multi-spinotto da utilizzare a casa o in ufficio, sia a chi viaggia sovente e ha la necessità di caricare diverse tipologie di dispositivi senza doversi portare dietro tanti cavetti scomodi ed ingombranti.
L'ho trovato inoltre davvero molto robusto e particolarmente versatile.
