I loved the Reappearance of Rachel Price. The book explores themes like the invasive nature of true crime documentaries, verbal abuse and how it can take form and repairing family bonds . Without spoilers the best part of the book is the strained relationship between Rachel and Bel and how Bel is always suspicious of Rachel and how even though they are family she at times feels like she barely knows Rachel since Rachel hasn't been involved in their life and how the bond between them matures is what makes this a fascinating mother daughter bond. Also the family is very knives out like and how that is explored is very well done and realistic. I also like the close bond Bel has with Carter and how even when they disagree they always find a way back to caring for one another and to look out for each other. Overall the theme of the book about who is truly family to a person is what makes it effective because as a reader I was invested in what would happen to these characters because the connections they had made that possible and what bel comes to learn about members of her family is what creates that ability to care and the ability to somewhat relate as we all have moments where we find the people that actually care. I also like that the book keeps you in suspense and you never can truly predict what will be revealed in the twists there are times where like bel I as a reader didn't know who to trust and that made me want to keep reading. Truly great books make you not ever want to stop reading them always wanting to see what happens next and that's exactly what this book did for me. I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves being kept in suspense and loves themes on what it truly means to be family.

As a Holly Jackson fan, I had high expectations for the book. Overall, it was okay. It can't compare to AGGGTM.

Characters had outlined traits that were included to make them stand out but it didn't establish a real connection with them for me. Most were forgettable.

The pacing is slow in the beginning but really fast in the end. It was fine, you just need to be patient.

Aside from that, I enjoyed the plot and think it's a good read. I would rather reread 5 Survive by Jackson instead though.

I saw this book on a shelf at Target. I picked it up and started reading the first page. Then, the second. Then, I realized that I had to finish shopping. Into my cart it went. I picked it up to read at home and read it for most of the night. Work took me away from it on Friday, but I dedicated myself to it on Saturday and Sunday. So many twists, so much building up. There were times when I thought, I know what happened and then talked myself out of it. Read this book. But, book some time for yourself, because you won't want to do anything else until the last page.

The real story focuses on the the young daughter, as she attempts to solve the mysteries on her own while filming a documentary she has no desire to be a part of. This was a wild journey but a good one. There was so much happening - family drama, dark secrets, suspenseful moments, thriller elements, true crime documentary, potential love... Like I said, a lot!

Annabel's mother, Rachel, disappeared 16 years ago. Since then is just "Bel" and her dad Charlie. When Charlie signs the contract and agrees to a true crime documentary the impossible happens. Rachel Price reappears!
Bel is not taking this easy. Charlie is nearly seen. The only person who is interested in helping is Ash from the filming crew.

Bel didn't realise that things could turn unexpectedly and nothing would be like before.

This book was so so gooooood! Holly’s writing sucks you in from the get go. The pacing is spot on and the story builds perfectly.

There’s plenty of twists and turns during the ‘reveal’ at the end and I changed my mind so many times on where I thought it was going.

I really bonded and connected with Bel, she was smart but also guarded and a bit grumpy and I enjoyed seeing her character develop.

There is a small romance subplot which was super sweet, I loved these elements and their interactions were so cute.

The ending felt like all the puzzle pieces finally fitting together, all the details you pick up and learn throughout are resolved and it plays out in an explosive, tense way. I was on the edge of my seat for the last quarter of the book.

Highly recommend if you want an easy thriller / mystery!

I love the whole storyline! I had already been a big fan of this author and read all of her books so when I learnt she had this book out I just knew I had to read it. This book surprised me as it had a slightly different feel to her usual books but still an excellent storyline. And as a Holly Jackson book I had high expectations which were not only met but also greatly surpassed. I found the plot twist (believe me there are many) to be exciting and well written. Overall this book is amazing and I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes YA murder mysteries.
