yes, I know, that's what Stephen King calls his fans, which I am, but Holly Jackson is now one of my favorites too.

A few years ago I bought AGGGM for my daughter and we both loved it. I continued to read the other books part of the series on my own (my daughter could not forgive the death of the dog in book 1), as well as the other standalone books, all of which were amazing.

Anyway, anytime Ms. Jackson publishes something new I preorder it and I have not been disappointed thus far.

This book was great, albeit a little slow. There's a lot going on right beneath the surface, and lots of details are subtly provided to reinforce the idea that something is amiss. The main character, Annabel, is troubled (and who wouldn't be?) but not to the point of disliking her, and she evolves little by little, without changing how she truly is in the process.

This books takes you to dark places and introduces you to dark characters as well, more so than her other books.

If there was one thing that I'd point out as a negative would be the pace of the story, which is rather slow-going, and too much is left to the end, but still enyoyable.

If you are unfamiliar with this author's books, I recommend you try any one of them - they're all worth it.
