Oils could be crafted using combination of monster remains and herbs gathered from shrubs. Monsters of any level dropped both powdered monster tissue and monster remains. Aside from crafting, which required time, it was possible to buy all oils at Thorstein's shop. Oils were applied right before the fight and their effects lasted till the battle was over.

Besides monster remains and herbs, crafting required a store-bought base - bear fat. Crafting materials were made more difficult to obtain, as common monsters dropped only powdered monster tissue while rare and legendaries dropped monster remains. Crafting time was reduced. It was possible to buy oils, bear fat and a bundle of herbs at Thorstein's shop. Oils could be applied straight from the inventory tab and their effects lasted for 10 minutes.
