The intelligence agency of Kaedwen is primarily based in the capital, Ard Carraigh.[1]

While taking enlistment, they primarily picked out individuals with great potential, such as exiled mages and spies.[1]

History[]

Henselt's reign[]

In the 13th century, during the reign of King Henselt, recruitment officers from the Kaedwenian Secret Service found the mage Rience outside Ban Ard Academy, having been kicked out for thievery. They enlisted him and trained him as a killer, before he left to pursue greater things.[1]

After Henselt met with the other northern rulers at Hagge in 1267, spies from the service heard news of Rience tracking Ciri, the princess of Cintra who was orphaned in the capital's slaughter. Believing that Nilfgaard was attempting to capture the girl, they began a continent wide search to hunt down and kill the Princess, so Kaedwen could partially decide Cintra's future.[1]

The following is considered game canon only and may contradict Andrzej Sapkowski's works.

In 1271, the service extended its agent Arnolt Malliger to Flotsam in Temeria, where he attempted to gain control of the crossroads, so Kaedwen's annex would allow them to control the trade routes.[2]
