In November, Southern China's fashion scene is witnessing significant events in both Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Shenzhen hosted CHANEL's cruise show earlier this month, highlighting the city's rising importance in the fashion industry, partly due to Covid restrictions limiting travel to Hong Kong and Guangzhou. Meanwhile, Hong Kong is set to showcase Pharrell's second menswear collection for Louis Vuitton on November 30. This event, a collaboration with local mogul Adrian Cheng, reflects Hong Kong's continued relevance despite challenges from political tensions and population shifts. These developments illustrate the dynamic nature of the fashion landscape in the region. 🌐 Navigating the New Luxury Landscape: Insights and Opportunities In the wake of recent financial reports, it's evident that the luxury sector is encountering a unique set of challenges. Burberry, a prominent player, reported a 1% increase in sales in its latest quarter, a stark contrast to the 18% surge in the preceding period. This trend isn't isolated – LVMH, Richemont, and Kering have also experienced a noticeable slowdown. What's striking is the simultaneous softening of markets across different regions, a scenario that Burberry's CEO Jonathan Akeroyd describes as "quite unique." Traditionally, brands could counterbalance weaknesses in one area with strengths in another, but this strategy seems less viable under current conditions. This shift signifies a crucial moment for luxury brands. As Bain's forecasts suggest, the luxury market's growth is expected to decelerate further next year. This landscape demands a strategic reevaluation – where should luxury brands direct their focus for sustainable growth? At Modum, we believe that understanding these market dynamics is crucial for navigating the future. Our expertise in the luxury sector positions us uniquely to help brands adapt and find top talent that can make a difference. #LuxuryMarket #BusinessStrategy #ModumInsights #MarketTrends #Burberry #LVMH #Kering #Richemont #FashionIndustry

Having only posted a few weeks ago about Davide securing his new role within moschino, it’s sad to share that Fashion Loses a Bright Star: Davide Renne, Moschino's Creative Director, Passes Away at 46. Tragic news struck the world of fashion. Davide Renne, recently appointed as Moschino's new creative director, has passed away at 46. This sudden loss, just days after his start at the iconic fashion house, has left the industry in deep sorrow. Massimo Ferretti, Chairman of Aeffe SpA, Moschino's parent company, expressed profound grief, noting Renne's brief yet impactful presence. Renne's vision was poised to shine at Milan Fashion Week 2024. His legacy, a blend of playfulness and creative genius, will be deeply missed. Our heartfelt condolences to his loved ones. #FashionWorld #DavideRenne #Moschino
