Vapor is a mysterious woman who once served as a scientist in the Special Forces along with Jax Briggs, Sonya Blade, Mikka Stone, Torque and Sylence, working to develop an invisibility device until something disastrous occurred.
It is rumored that something went wrong and the face behind her mask has never been seen, perhaps an indication that she was horribly scarred or disfigured from the event.
According to the comic, bullets and any other solid object can slide between her molecules at an even greater ease. Vapor could also fly.
