Katara Vala is a minor character who appears in Mortal Kombat 1 during the second chapter of the game's story mode.
He serves as the titular main antagonist of the fictional film, Temple of Katara Vala.
He would later become available as an alternate skin for Havik with his own palettes.
Biography[]
Mortal Kombat 1[]
After being awaken by the Tomb Raider and Adam, Katara Vala scared Adam off as he falls into the mercury rivers below, killing him instantly. He attempts to kill the Tomb Raider as he tries to take the shield away, but the death of Adam angered the latter enough to start a fight between the two.
Katara Vala and the Tomb Raider would briefly fight, before he gets decapitated by his own shield at the hands of the Tomb Raider.

- Katara Vala design is meant to be a reference to Havik's classic appearance. Furthering the connection between the two:
- When fighting him in Story Mode, Katara Vala useds Havik's moveset.
- Katara Vala is shares his voice actor, Jacob Craner, with Havik.
- In quick matches, Katara Vala will be absent from the stage when Havik is being played as.
