GF Database

The scan for Skaan's statue.

The GF Database is a network run by the Galactic Federation, implied to be an encyclopedia of various topics of Galactic Federation research gained and stored throughout the galaxy. Research information includes but is not limited to: ancient relics from Bryyo and Elysia, and Galactic Federation Data, which pertains to a wide variety of topics such as creatures and events within the cosmos. The Database is often mentioned in statues and artifacts and the like when Samus Aran scans them. In the case of GF Lore, terminals (when scanned) are stated as "Datafiles" (GFDF); files stored within the GF Database ("GF Database files") and present a unique Database ID only when the terminal is initially scanned (this ID is not stored within the Logbook). The GF Database may be the Galactic Federation equivalent of the Space Pirate Datanet, and could be a part of their core network.

Most mentions of the GF Database are in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. In Metroid Dread, ADAM claims to look for Raven Beak in the Federation database but to find no record of him.

Subjects identified via the GF Database[]

In Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, each logbook entry in Galactic Federation Data is assigned an ID, and each ID is placed in a unique two-letter category code.

A few references to GF Data entries are provided in spoken form at the Information Terminal on the G.F.S. Olympus, some of which are not in the logbook:

Additional non-logbook scans on Bryyo and Elysia also reference GF Data entries. Scans on Bryyo are assigned the same two-letter category code as the Logbook entry on Bryyo (BY), and scans at SkyTown are assigned the same two-letter category code as the Logbook entry on SkyTown (ST).

The non-logbook Bryyo scans with GF Data entries are:

The non-logbook SkyTown scans with GF Data entries are:

Unused Galactic Federation Data also possess their own unique Database ID, meaning there was to be additional terminals for Samus to scan and access (see here for unused Datafiles). The list of unused IDs are as follows:
