The Carrier (as named internally) is a spacecraft that was used by the Galactic Federation in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. It appears alongside the G.F.S. Olympus in orbit around Norion, with over half a dozen in number, as common as Griffin-class frigates.
Appearance[]
The Carrier is similar in design to the larger Olympus-class battleship. The ship is distinguished by featuring two prongs on the underside of the bow and only having eight fuel pods on the stern, as opposed to the ten on the Olympus-class. The ship is also smaller than the Olympus-class, being more compact and not possessing the same engines. The Carrier is largely grey, with some traces of peach and white.
Much like the Olympus-class, the Carrier is separated into three sections. The front portion of the vessel houses the majority of the crew, cargo space and the bridge. The middle portion houses the ship's hangers, where fighters, transports and personal spacecraft dock and depart. The back portion is where the engines and fuel are located. It is likely that the Carrier runs on Fuel Gel much like the Olympus-class line of ships.
Invasion on Norion[]

Many Carriers were stationed in orbit around Norion at the time of the surprise Space Pirate attack on Norion. They were mixed in with the Federation Fleet and stood up to the Pirate spacecraft. One Carrier is seen being able to hold its own and withstand several shots from a Space Pirate cannon. The Carriers deployed swarms of Stiletto-Class Fighters to repel and overwhelm Space Pirate fighters. The defence held and Norion was saved thanks to Samus Aran's and the other Bounty Hunters' efforts on the ground.
Trivia[]
- The design resembles the Nebulon-B escort frigate from the Star Wars franchise, though considerably wider and more armoured.
- Despite their effectiveness during the Invasion on Norion, not a single Carrier was seen for the attack on Phaaze. It is unknown whether the ships were used during the Assault on the Pirate Homeworld.
- There is a higher quality model for the Carrier, though it is only visible on the bridge of the G.F.S. Olympus, both before and during the Space Pirate attack on Norion.
- During the attack, the higher quality model for the Carrier, of which was quite close to the Olympus, would slowly maneuver away from the bridge all while taking heavy fire from Space Pirate destroyers.
